I might bite on a Wrangler this weekend.

Gonna see if I can shop at my three local Jeep dealerships this weekend to hopefully come out with a new car.

Trying to aim for $19,116 OTD on a Wrangler Sport S.

Any advice?

Good luck! What year range are you looking for? Do you have one in mine?

Yeah, a 2013.
I wanted hard top, but I've only seen soft top, and in black or dark cherry red.

If you are looking for new that's probably not going to happen. If you find the right dealer you might be able to get under $20k with for sport with no options.

So roughly 22.5K w/ TTL included? Show us your math, please. You may have done something wrong on accident. TL is 1% under invoice.

Invoice: $23,855 (give or take)
TL Program: 23,855 - 238.55 = $23,616.45
Down payment: $5,000 (including TTL)
The down payment is a trade in of my current car, the dealership gave me $3400 for it, plus another 1k I'm putting down.
Dealership incentive: $500 off any new car purchase

TOTAL: $19,116

Some of the dealers that advertise low price jks in the south, advertise the 2wd models. Make sure you verify 4wd if that's what you want

They haven't made a 2wd Jeep since 2010. If he's looking for a 13, they're all 4wd.

Auto loan calculator - Bankrate.com

You can use the above link to determine your monthly amortization payment. mine is off by a few cents but it will be a close guesstimate on how much money you'll pay monthly before agreeing to terms.

I'm have the option of locking 1.79% at 48 months or 2% for up to 66 at mine. It's a credit union.

I wish you all the luck in the world, but don't think its going to happen. OTD includes tax, so unless you're in a tax free State I think the dealer would be losing too much money to let it go for that. Its not like its a model nobody wants, either.

Couple of things to consider- hard tops aren't cheap aftermarket at least in California. If you really want one it might be worth ponying up whatever they're charging in 2014. I am sure you dealer can add one to any existing Jeep. (Though I prefer my soft top)
3.21s gears are perfectly good. If you plan to add a 35" tire or bigger eventually consider 3.73 gears. The best $200 you'll ever spend.
While I added power windows aftermarket I still wish I'd ponied up for the power package. I normally am topless so in a way why bother locking? But between locking the glove, locking the center console and locking my tailgate to protect my aftermarket sub- it gets a little annoying. I'd like to push a button for the doors. Plus my husband and I both drive my Jeep- re-adjusting the mirrors is a PITA.

Based on my recollection of previous posts, OP is in Florida. Not sure of the importance of a hard top there, security would seem to be the only real reason for needing one and when cost is the biggest driver, I think it's probably something that can wait.

Good luck with your shopping, push them hard and remember it's up to them to make the deal happen for you. It's easier for you to find another dealer than it is for them to find another customer willing to sign on the dotted line today, and they know it. Don't be afraid to walk away, you'll be amazed how doing that can help jog a salesman's memory as to that last little bit of discount he has available to give.

The reason I want a hard top is because of security. Living in Miami, I don't trust much people here. Do I mind soft top? NO! that's one of the things that makes Jeep a Jeep, lol.

I just don't want some a**hole with nothing to do stick a knife through a soft top. I know they can be pricey.

Ha! Just before I read your post I thought, "he probably lives in Miami". They'll steal anything down there .

So leave your roof down, your Jeep unlocked and nothing of value in it. If you can't stop them getting in, make it as easy as possible for them to see there's nothing worth getting in for.

ehhh. I don't think I can do that...

I'm thinking of installing a Viper alarm on it.

Alarms are good, but you also need to make sure you get it with a second battery on a second circuit or they'll just open your hood and disconnect the battery. Locking hood catches help there as well.

Depending on what you're planning to leave in the Jeep, and I don't really understand why it's not possible for you to remove your valuables from it, you might also want to look into an underseat box.

I say this gently before someone gets angry or a small kitten gets sacrificed.....its a Jeep, not a car.
Many custom options for that. But both will fit into your center console- which is lockable. Otherwise leave them out in a soft top and they're sure to disappear.

I keep an old iPod in my center console unlocked. Two weeks ago my Jeep got rifled through but nothing was stolen, not even the iPod. My glovebox was foolishly locked though, and it ended up broken. They still couldn't get in it, but it was only an owners manual anyway. They must have thought it was something more valuable.

I'm not an especially big man, and I reckon I could get a locked JK centre console open without tools in no more than 20 seconds. With tools, I'd be surprised if it took me 5.

Yah, if someone wants in....I had someone break in my truck and rip out a custom-bracketed sub with a crow bar. It wasnt a small bracket. In the middle of an Ikea parking lot at 3pm. Little did he know it was a custom built prototype- that didn't have power. At least the guy that crawled thru my Mazda sunroof to steal my laptop didn't do any damage. Course the guy that broke my window to get my Nav... He Did some damage.
The fact that I own a Jeep with a soft top is pure lunacy.
