Question JCR Half doors... thoughts?

Read the recent thread on half doors as well as number of older ones... came away with some questions:

Anyone with longer term views on the JCR Half doors? About to pull the trigger on a pair.

Would really love it if anyone has a photo of a Billet Silver JK with the black powdercoat doors.

Also curious if people have had good luck with uppers (and which brand) at highway speeds or in rain. My goal would be to run them all summer (New England) on my daily driver JK10A.

I want half doors that are lightweight so I can easily toss them in the back for the drive home from work, etc.

I also need them to be made in the USA. That hugely limits the options.

Bunch of guys here on the forum run Savvy half doors. Check them out. They work with bestop or factory uppers and some have sealed them up fairly good by adding a little weatherstripping.

I run the Bestop Element Tube Doors &.Enclosures on my JKU in Summer (well, the first Summer right now) and I put on the Bestop Soft Uppers in case of rain or highway driving.

The Doors and Uppers both have weatherstrips (really good ones).
You have to adjust the Soft Uppers to the doors and to the soft top frame. Then you have to bend them so that they keep tight to the frame even at highway speeds. Otherwise, they would flap in the wind.

If you have done that properly, the Doors & Uppers are 99% sealed against heavy rain, which is fine for me.

Running at highway speed with those Doors & Uppers is significantly louder. So longer highway trips are much more comfortable with Full Doors.

If you want to throw your Half Doors in the back, better do that with Soft Half Doors and not with the Steel Half Doors, because of rattling and scratching them.

And please do yourself a favor and paint your Half Doors, or get them painted with the matching colour, it looks waaay much better and is absolutely worth the extra bucks.

I have the Savvy and the Rugged Ridge Uppers. I used the roll on Bedliner on them and glued black carpet on the inside. I added the JCR armrest which works perfect on them.

I had to drill the holes but other than that they worked perfectly.

Thanks they do pretty well in the rain. I get a few drops in the hinge area but that is about it.

Is that a cat in the picture?
On a leash?
Lol

If so... very cool.

If not... poor dog. Looking like a cat when you are in fact a dog must suck.
