I plan to do coal mountain. I’m disappointed that they dropped the pine barrens for 2020.

I have never done one but I want to. Is it worth the price?

Lots of people say no. We have done a few and think they are worth every penny.

I'm kinda on the fence about it...looking at possibly doing the Black Hills run if they're going out on private land.

There is one within 2 hours of me; Palo Duro. Nothing is within 2 hours of me. Next major city is 5 hours away in ALBQ. Saw some pics from last year. Looked interesting but also looked like a giant clusterf**!

I go to AOAA a good bit, and don't see the attraction of doing Coal Mountain JJ. I prefer to go someplace I don't get to regularly.

Anyone have feedback on Catskill Mountains JJ?

I would really like to go to Moab, BUT THE DRIVE IS KILLER!

We are back again for 2020 sponsorship. I hope to make it out to a few more in 2020.
I did the Beartooth Adventure and it was a blast.

I was able to wheel a 2 door JK, no lockers on our 2" SPORT system and it was so much fun.

I didn't do the Jamboree last year but have done Beartooth and it is absolutely beautiful country. Raining on the Wyoming side, snowing on the Montana side. Slept in my Jeep and woke up to 14°F at 11,000'. It was CHILLY

Similar situation for me!!
One day, it was absolutely beautiful, the next day cold/rainy and sleety.

And I was one of the few in a tent, but it was a BLAST!!!
Got back to Cody and took all my camping gear out in the hotel room to let it dry out.

I think $300 to $2000 for someone else to organize a trail run for me sounds terrible, but if you don't live out west, enjoy the crowds, or are new to offroading, or just have a bunch of money to spend - well clearly there is a market for it!

This is exactly it. Where I live there is nothing open to just "ride" without an event. I have to wait for jeep festivals and jeep weekends just to ride on a trail for a few hours. Often time we camp there just to ride the same trails the next day because it will be a while before there is another event.

It will get expensive if I bring the whole family.

I think its depends on the place and people..... I went to a Northeast Jamboree this year and I have mixed feelings.... Trails were boring after a while..... Trail guides weren't that much help.... I did improve my skills..... We had to wait several times ~30 minutes... for tire blow outs... and for one Stock vehicle getting stuck all the time...... The gentlemen banged up a week old JLU Sahara... had a blow out... bashed a bumper... and dented his body.... I don't understand what the purpose of an "inspection" is when they allow vehicles that will surely get severely damaged on certain trails.....

I think your better off just getting a handful of jeeps and do trails at your pace..... My plan is to go to MOAB next year..... It will be my second trip there..... Awesome place......

Got the platinum membership and have already signed up for Rubicon. Could I do it myself with some friends? Most likely yes. I've even run a trail or two solo (I know not advised). Having heard about the mechanics and others on these Jamborees that will help get you out, I thought it might be best to try one. I'll have to see how it goes and report back on my take whether or not it's worth it.
No whining now...
