Jeep removed the option for body color hardtop?

My brother is about to pull the trigger on a JKU Sahara and cannot build one online with a body color hardtop, not even a 2012. What is the price of the Body color hardtop option? hes not sure he wants the duel top group yet, but does anyone know the price of the Duel Top group with body color option?

TIA!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that the body color hard top goes with the Sahara. I don't think it's an option on the Sport (or Rubicon?). I believe that you can't get anything but a matching color hard top on the Sahara.

So it won't be in the option list. If you get a hard top Sahara you get a body color hard top. If you get anything else with the hard top it comes in black.

I just ordered one myself. The cost of the Body Color 3-Piece Hard Top is an additional $1000 (MSRP) after the dual top group is selected.

Dual top group is $2,085 (MSRP).

Good luck!

The plain black hard top is the standard hard top. The Body Color hard top is a $1000 option with the dual top group.

Poking around the Jeep website on the "build your own" page it appears that there is no option for the body color top. I would talk to a dealer about that to confirm.

Body colored HT & fenders is an option on Rubi's on '12-**.

Standard on the Sahara (included in price).
Optional on the Rubicon ($1,000?).
Not available on the S.

Yes, it is. Tom is correct. Body color hard top is standard on Sahara, optional on Rubicon, not available on Sport/Sport S.

Unless there has been a BIG change very recently......

No. Absolutely incorrect. Body-colored fenders are standard on the Sahara. For the body-colored hardtop, there is a $1000 upcharge (beyond the $895 or whatever the current black hardtop price is). This is not new, though the upcharge was $980 in 2012.

On the Rubicon, the body-colored fenders are $200.

My brother just got off the phone with a dealer, said it is not standard but also said it cannot be ordered until January (he wants to build up a Yeti Jeep) Pat can you confirm/deny this?

He's already searching craigslist/forums for a bodycolor hardtop incase he cant order it and isnt having any luck.

Can you get a hardtop aftermarket that cheap?

^^ This is correct. I purchased a Sahara with dual top group and non-body colored hard top.

Damn....Jeep upped the price on the body colored fenders? For some reason, I thought it was $100 last year.

And yes, painted fenders are Standard on the Sahara, optional on the Rubi (if ordered with painted top). Painted top is optional on both.

Yes and yes. $200 now, $100 last year. I actually had that in my post but edited it out.

And I was also going to add that part. As you note, the painted fenders are available on the Rubicon only if the painted top is ordered.

The dealer is wrong. There are 2 possible reasons the dealer is saying that. 1. the dealer wants to sell what he has in stock, or 2. the dealer selected the dual top group in dealerconnect before selecting the painted hard top. When building/ordering in dealerconnect, the painted hard top has to be selected before selecting the dual top group. It's a weird glitch that no one has fixed for almost 5 months now.

And just to clarify

Non painted hardtop(no soft top) is $895

Painted hard top(no soft top) is $1795

Dual top group is $2085

Painted hard top with dual top group is $1000

Thanks Pat for clearing that up! really appreciate you chiming in! just curious, how much would it cost after the fact to get from the dealer?

If that is true then the standard Sahara options have been down graded.

You can not.
I can assure you that the Sahara comes standard with the painted flares and the painted top is an option. You get the black top standard and the painted hard top is an option.

Since when? I've only been following them closely since the 2012 model year. For 2012 and 2013, the Sahara has always been available with a black or body-colored top. And the body-colored one has always been more expensive. Last year it was $735 and $1,715. This year it started out $795 and $1,795 and is now $895 and $1,795, according to Pat. [Thanks for the correction, Pat.]

Don't believe me? Do an inventory search. I bet more than half the Saharas you find that have hardtops have the black one.
