JK rear seat removal

Got the seat back to fold forward. But can not lift the seat base up to fold it forward to grab the bars to remove the seat. The lever in the center seat top allows the top to fold but cant get seat to lift up.

It might require a good yank pulling at an angle. The first time I took my seat out to put on covers, it was a bit of a struggle. I had to climb inside to get more leverage to make it easier.

I had the same problem when I bought my used 2015 last year. My issue turned out to be that the previous owner had not aligned the forward seat clasps correctly into the floor mounts, which bound up the entire system. I had to really pry the seat to get it unseated from the floor mount. Once I inserted the forward clasp correctly into the floor, it slips in and out easily.

I used a crow bar under bottom of seat and wouldn't budge. The front looks square and by squeezing the two bars it won't release the latch. Have to go back out tomorrow and give it another go.

If the seat folds flat but the rear part stays locked down then the cables inside the seat are not releasing the "fingers" that lock the rear of the seat down in the rearmost footman loops. Normally, as I'm sure your are aware, the act of folding down the seat back releases the lock on the rear clamps, allowing them to spring backwards and thus opening the rear gates. The folded seat can then be moved to the vertical position. The two bars don't come into play until you want to release the front clamps, which can should only happen after the rear clamps are released.
