JK stock fog lights / aftermarket?

So I have a 07 JK - stock, I bought the rugged ridge stubby bar winch bumper. The problem is I dont have the factory foglights to put in the bumper, and my JK isn't rigged for them. I will need the harness, lights and switch...

Best price I have found is eBay for $100-$115for the full set, anyone have any other ideas/options?

I added a set Hella 500s when I added my winch bumper. The 500s are the same 12v/55w setup as the 2012 factory fogs that came on mine, so I just spliced them into the existing Mopar wiring and retained the factory fog light switch.

That said, the kit comes with everything you need to wire them up without factory wiring including fuse and switch. I only paid something like $55 from Autozone.

Hella Micro DE or Bosch Compact 100s will run circles around the stock fogs.

Any ideas if those fit the openings on the Rugged Ridge Stubby bumper? (holes fit stock fog lights)

I love the factory fogs on our JKs. Why couldn't the headlights work just as well?

I too feel the factory fogs work well.....also work well with parking lights on in rain (daytime-only)

But I would listen to "Hilldweller" as he has done a LOT of research in lighting options.
I followed his advice on a headlight bulb exchange and am VERY pleased.

I took a quick look at the Hella Micro DE and they look impressive. Do you know if they are about the same size as the stock fog lights? I have holes in my aftermarket bumper that are holding the stock fogs, but I want to upgrade to something better and still use the holes in the bumper.

I think the Hellas are a little smaller; I don't think they'd be all that hard to fit.
Nice spread of light from them. Great foglight.

I have the same bumper, and I thought I would pass along some info before you go spending money & time adding fogs, wiring and switches. The way the XHD bumper is designed to fit the factory fogs is somewhat...well...very limiting.

I have the factory fogs in there, and the way they mount, it is not possible to adjust them (up, down, left or right). The way the bumper angles and sits it basically aims them at the first 5-8 feet in front of the jeep, and that's about it. Sure its nice to have lights there, but functionally, I don't really get much out of them.

After I did my lift, which eliminated the front rake, they now reach out to about 10-12 feet, but its barely noticable, and functionally not much of a benefit.

Instead, I am looking at adding Rigid LED spots on windshield mounts, and I believe this will really help me with the added sight on dark backroads or offroad that I was really looking for.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, the RR bumper is hard to mount lights in --- and the location isn't great for real foglights. A pair of floodlights for offroad would be pretty cool there. They'd be good rock lights.
I mounted my driving lights to an A to Z Fab fairlead mount on my RR stubby. Much easier to see with than A-Pillar lights.

Thanks, I'll have to take a closer look at them.
