JKU popping out of 4lo

This only happened to me once, but it felt weird...

I had the Jeep in 4lo and was doing fine. After a while, I stopped and put it in park so I could look at some maps. Once done, I put it back in drive and started driving again (very light on gas). I could feel the transmission pop out of gear (rev'd up more than it should and didn't engage). After a few seconds it popped back in. Very shortly later, same thing (popped out, then a few seconds later, popped back in).

I then put it in neutral, shifted to 4hi then back to 4lo and the problem went away completely. It hasn't happened since.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I could almost understand if it was happened immediately after putting it in 4lo (if I didn't engage it correctly) but I had already been driving in 4lo.

Thoughts?
