JWM4x4 still exist?

So I ordered a JWM4x4 grill insert with hood lock hole a few months ago for my JKU with a BOLT hood lock. I found that once I mounted the grill insert my hood look was off center and I could not get the rubber cap off in order to un/lock the hood lock. I looked more at the design and realized it would work better and have greater tolerances if they made the hole 2.5in in diameter rather than the 2in that they put in place. I emailed JWM4x4 with pictures and received no response. I had heard that they only say it works with a MOPAR lock which I cant find on their site and the picture they use is of a BOLT hood lock. After no hearing anything I posted in a JWM insert thread on here with again no response. So finally I made a poor attempt at opening the hole thus destroying my grill, which I take full responsibility for. After such things I put a review on their site noting the tolerance issue and the lack of responses from JWM4x4. Checked today and my review is gone but I have yet to hear anything from them. Do they still exist? Bueller?

Not sure about the company but I was able to use the insert with a Bolt lock just fine. You do have to move the rubber cover around to get it off but nothing that I've had inhibits the use.

The MOPAR hood lock is just a re-badged BOLT lock.Yes, JWM is still in business.

The issue with the product is the tolerances are too tight considering it is to be used in conjunction with another aftermarket product. In my case my hood lock ended up more to the left than the hole in the grill (with the grill centered) I could get to the top of the rubber cover to begin to open it but it was pinched behind the grill in the lower portion of the hole due to its off-centeredness which I can do nothing about since its related to the holes in my rad support. I even offered up a solution to the issue for them for future purposes to ease the tolerances. Their lack of communication is the part that's really frustrating, in the beginning just sending it back would have perfect and possible. Since it basically seemed like no one worked there anymore I tried to make it work for me (which went poorly lol) as I do love the look of the insert. I know some people have had luck with these and I also realize that sometimes things wont work together, especially two items from different aftermarket manufacturers but in those cases some response from them would be really nice.

Also to not allow a comment on an item on your site and then not reach out to the commenter to discuss is pretty terrible customer service.

That is surprising. I heard back from JWM super quick when I emailed them recently. Good products overall and I have had zero issues.

That's what I had read while researching them which is why I was wondering if something had happened to the company. Hopefully I am just an outlier, not happy to be one, but for others hopefully I am.

Same here:

I have no issue removing the rubber cap to access the lock though.

It looks like the hole sits a little lower for you, the edge of the grill hole is close enough to the rubber that I cant get the lip of the rubber around the metal protruding rind that it sits around on mine.

Any update from them, homebrwd? I ordered last week and have yet to hear anything from them about order or shipping. The only thing I have received at this point is a paypal showing they have my money. I have an email in, but no response as of yet. I would call, but they don't have a phone # on their website.

For the two times I've ordered from them, I never got a single order confirmation, but were always delivered in a timely fashion from Canada.

I order from them a month ago and had no problems communicating. Quick responses back and forth. They even reached out to Canada post on my behalf when my package was held up at customs to try and get some info for me. I was emailing Josh McAree at [email protected]x4.com

I also never got an order confirmation other than the one from PayPal. I did get a tracking number and email from Canada Post once it shipped.

Has anyone had any luck in calling JWM? I have been trying to contact someone there with no luck; I've tried calling and I get "this number is not set up to receive incoming calls". I wasn't sure if this was because I was trying to call from a US cell phone line, or if it was an issue on their end. Thanks.

Oh as a side note, I've tried the [email protected] email, their FB page and actually emailing Josh's email directly. Just trying to get a grill I bought; it looks like paypal didn't list my address on the receipt, so it looks like it's never been mailed. Been since Feb 23rd now.

JWM update. Josh has been on vacation with limited internet access. They had some shipping issues in Feb which they are catching up on now.

I don't think they are a very big operation from the sounds of things so In some ways I understand the delays (guy goes on vacation and emails don't get responded to). That's the pains of growing as a company.

As for shipping if you have a tracking number you should be able to track it. If it's in customs it's 100% out of Canadian post and USPS hands until it's released. Mine took 2 weeks to clear customs but I've heard of people's packages taking months in some cases. It's fully up to the Gov at that point.
