Kenda has the new KR601 R/T in 35x10.5R17 out!
Actual listed spec chart size of 34.7x11R17 converts to 280/80R17
And it's D rated !!!

I've got a set of 5 coming Fed-Recks, we'll see how they look when they get here next week!

A quick look indicates about $200 a tire.

They have a 33 10.5 17 also. I have a Mopar 2 inch lift and I would consider them or the 35’s for my stock rims.

Both the 33's and 35" would fit with 1 1/4" spacers behind the stock rims.
35"s would need flat fenders on a 2" lift.

not on a mopar 2" lift. I run 35's on my 2" lift with stock fenders.

Thanks for posting this. Getting in the thread so I am notified of updates.

I do like the size options. Let's see how they perform.

In the motorcycling world, Kenda isn't known for their quality.

Are things different in the 4 wheel world?

I don't know anything about the company, but they're saying all the right words. It looks like a great all-'rounder tire.

I have seen the Kenda RT at Overland Expo. They are a fantastic looking tire. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them in 35's when it was tire time for me... I tried.

They did focus on all the right areas of offroad performance and quiet and smooth ride. Can't wait to see these new sizes!

Kenda's ad (post #9 above) says the tire has "bead protectors".

Is this a real thing, or marketing fluff?

it is a real thing. lots of tires have bead protectors. just a thicker band of rubber near the bead.

I'd hope so.

I got suckered and tried a set on one of my bikes. Was slippery/scary and I took them off pretty soon. That bike was my DD in south Florida and slippery didn't work in an area that saw that much rain.

They don't offer any for 16" wheels at all. What up with that?
I'll stick with Cooper. They still love me.

They have a very rounded profile, narrow tread width but wider section width than many other tires. Much like the Patagonia's.

The Kenda's are an All terrain class tire and the Patagonia's are a Mud Terrain class tire... So there's some differences you should consider. The Patagonia is very civilized for an MT, but the Kenda should be quieter and better in all weather conditions. This particular Kenda is a D as is the 315/70-17 Patagonia. But the Kenda 35x12.5-17 is an E and many of their 33's are actually F's.

Good luck in whatever you choose.

I like that the Kenda is almost a true 35 and narrower, I actually like the pizza cutter look over the "fat" tire look as I do very little rock crawling if these perform in Mud, sand and snow excellent they are a much better choice for my wants and desires. Plus saving an extra $100 is nice also.

Yes, serious competition for the ever popular 285/75-17 size. I bet they sell the crap out of them.

Kenda has had an MT, the KR29, out for about 6 years.

They initially had excellent quality at a very low price.
Then the MTs became very popular, selling out quickly. But reports started coming in that the QC had dropped during the rush while prices rose sharply and the buzz died.
Since then, the MT market has become very crowded. Even with prices back to mid-field normal and QC up where it should be, Kenda is now just another brand.

The RT tire market has only a few competitors, so this looks to be an attempt by Kenda to get their groove back.
