Key Matched? Gas Cap & Tube doors latches

Hey Guys,

Again, This is my 4-5th post about 2012/2013 JKU's. I am buying/ordering a 2012-2013 JKU very soon. This is going to be my first Jeep and I have another question.

Once I pick up my JKU I want to build my own set of tube doors. Is there any way to get a set of latches for a 2012/2013 JKU that have key's that match my stock ignition/door keys? I just don't want my Tube doors to disappear in a home depot parking lot or whatever....

The same goes for the gas cap or a gas cap cover, is there any way to buy one with a lock that matches my stock keys?

Thanks Guys!

You might have better luck than me with this. I tried like 5 different locksmiths to see if they would key my locking gas door latch to my ignition and they all flat out refused. That's here in the DC area too so...

You can purchase the Mopar locking cap and it can be keyed to your ignition key at the dealer. Easy stuff. I don't know about getting door locks keyed though.

Thanks guys

I found that I can get a key matched gas cap for about $100, it's pricey but I'd hate to have to carry an extra key just for the gas cap.

Does anybody know about the door latches? Thanks Fred K.

The problem I see with the gas cap door and tube doors is that the lock cylinder is pretty long. Tube doors are generally thin so putting an auto cylinder in it would protrude quite a bit.
