Knock off mopar factory LED's for 67 bucks!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just picked up a set. Quality seems decent when looking side by side to my quadratec's and trucklites.

Only 67 bucks for the pair!

I have yet to see the illumination yet. I will install them tomorrow. It was so cheap i honestly wanted to just check them out and try them out. I am going to look for a local with the mopar leds so I can see them side by side with them.

Yes, The sarcasm did not show through. I go out of my way so I don't buy knock off products, any knock off produces to include copy cat products ripped off from the original vendor.

I think most of them are made by the same manufacturer anyways with the exception of only a few.
I have the Truck Lights Chinese knockoffs and love em.
We'll see how they last, so far- Perfect.
Keep in mind, some people will defend over paying for something just because they over paid and wished they hadn't.
It's true you usually get what you pay for, but sometimes you also pay too much in comparison to what's available.

Apologies, to many JK people defend cheap crappy products because its all they have ever owned. I just assume it with about everyone on here at this point because there are so many of them that could be the poster children for Smitty or EAG. Happy Jeeping!

EAG makes the best 4-D carbon fiber mirror covers I've ever seen, I have a set on my truck.

Where's the silver reflective housing?

I've been wanting to get a set of the Mopar but what I like is the silver housing instead of the black. Wondering if you can get that trim ring separately and added to these so they have the silver look.

Who Jeepinmichguy? He just has a different opinion and that's okay, we're all entitled to those, right? I personally like to leave my options open and experiment with different products. It's only money and we can always make more. lol

Same here, but it's when those difference of opinions start leading to personal insults, then you know it's time to cut bait since someone is taking this stuff way too seriously.

Pretty common theme from this character. I mean come on, are comments like below really necessary? Is someone's ego really that fragile where they have to try and put others down for trying something different from what you chose?

True, maybe he's new the this whole "forum" thing? lol I'll give somebody my opinion if they ask, but try to keep my negative comments to myself on all the forums I belong to, because hey, we all like different things.

Please let us know if that adapter harness is also an anti-flicker harness.

I have tried, and of course been disappointed with, cheap knock offs.

For an example, a 7" headlight that was actually 180mm (which means its a bit larger than 7"). Doesn't quite fit without some major mods. If mod'ing is something you like to do, then possibly the savings in initial cost will be worth it for you.

So I didn't buy knockoffs. I bought genuine ProComp's and now I have lights I will have to return. I paid a few times what the knock offs would cost but at least I can return them. Problem is the replacements will probably have the same issue with the hi beams. Is there a list of lights totally made in the USA and are they an better without being $500. Hard to compete with labor cost in china if they are built with the same stuff. Seems the line between original and Chinese knock offs is getting a little fuzzy.

I'll just say this, I work in sales and a large part of my job tends to be working through and identifying costs. Looking at things simple mindedly, where folks tend to equate higher price=higher quality is often misguided old ways of thinking. It can be true in many instances but it's really naive in many instances as well. You also need to try to figure out the origin of the part and additionally identify how many hands it passes through to get that product into the customer hands. Often the price will double for each set of hands it passes through. The more hands it passes through, the higher the price will be. That's a fact. So does passing a part through the additional hands increase the quality of the part? In some instances it may, but typically it doesn't add enough to justify a near doubling of the price. Nobody works for free.

For example, when I look at the Procomp LEDs you purchased. Many have already identified that those lights were originally designed and manufactured in China by a company named "Tuffplus". See my post #3 in the discussion thread linked below and notice the similarities. I was highly considering purchasing them before they became "Procomp" LED headlights. They were originally being sold on Ebay and many were criticizing them and saying "You get what you pay for."
https://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/a...t-1960818.html

Here's the identified company that was originally selling them. Made in China, from a Chinese company.

7" LED HIGH/LOW HEADLIGHT-LED Headlights-TUFF PLUS

Procomp must have realized they were a good quality light, made some agreements between themselves and Tuffplus, and rebranded and used Procomp's established distribution vendors to sell them as Procomp LED headlights. The original manufacturer benefits because they are gaining sales from Procomp's established distribution channels, instead of managing sales themselves on Ebay. however, what Quality improvement did Procomp add to those original Tuffplus lights? Their name? Maybe they tested them out, and worked with Tuffplus to make some improvements on the design if they identified any problems/concerns? They added a life-time warranty, but also added over $100 to their original selling price at the same time. In reality, those life-time warranties are often structured so the customer is paying for a replacement during their original purchase if they use the warranty or not...but those warranties make people feel comfortable about their purchase. All this we will never know with 100% certainty, but one thing I do know is that an additional 2 hands were added to the original path to get those very similar LED headlight into the customer hands.

Previous Tuffplus lights: Tuffplus>Ebay>You The customer
Procomps: Tuffplus>Procomp>Northridge,Q-tech, etc.>You the customer.

Now take into consideration, NO ONE works for free and everyone has to make money along that path before it gets to you.

Our friendly criticizer of made in China parts where everything is junk, in this discussion has the Mopar OEM headlights, which were in the $700-$900 price range when they 1st came out and are now in the $300-$400 price range. Who makes the Mopar factory lights? Mopar? Nope. From my understanding they are designed and manufactured by Magna. So let's say for example those lights cost Magna $50 to manufacture.

A path to get them to you goes something like this.
Magna>Mopar>Dealership>Customer.

Magna needs to make $, so they sell their $50 to make headlight to Mopar for $100. It's also possible that a lot of the components Magna uses were sourced from China. Does Magna manufacturer LED projector bulbs? China and Taiwan are the world's 2 largest worldwide manufacturers of the actual LED projectors currently.

From Magna, Mopar put some effort/costs into them and they need to make money also, so they mark them up to $200. The folks at the dealership need to make money, so they mark them up to $400 and that's the path of how a $50 worth of parts headlight costs you $300-$400. Maybe some quality was added along the way? Unsure.

The shorter path to get the parts to you, will always cost less but does that make them inferior quality parts, or did you as a customer just benefit by finding a way to purchase those same lights at a more direct path from the manufacturer?

Higher Price=Higher Quality right? It's that simple.

Did OP ever post an actual review of this product?

If they're knock-off "Mopar" do they have DRL?

Don't you need a re-wiring or re-programming to enable that function with any replacement headlight?

This is true for the most part, but I have no problem if proved wrong admitting it so. Problem is, as I tell you all the time you get what you pay for 99.9 percent of the time. You for some reason don't believe this to be the case. Thats fine, buy what you want. It's your money, but don't get mad when someone else disagrees and has no problem telling you. BTW, thought you blocked me because you claimed I sent you mean hateful IMs even though I clearly have no problem saying what I think in public. 🤣🤣🤣
