Huh? Did someone familiar with the problem at least look at what they wrote? Heat and AC are not the issue with casting materials in the cooling system.

It will go nowhere. The issue with casting sand or whatever was in the system has already been decided in court. There is a sticky at the top of the forum.

And don't forget to be careful when you get your hot coffee in the morning if you spill that hot coffee it could be hot so be careful that your coffee is hot.
Did I mention the coffee was supposed to be hot?

It seems that FCA is the latest whipping boy for the tort firms. I got a letter from a local firm out of the blue advising me that if I had engine, transmission, suspension, heating or air conditioning problems that I could be eligible for financial compensation. Right! Trolling for a quick payday.

I would be more onboard with a Class action law suit for the oil filter cooler issue and a radiator replacement issue. those are both items that have affected way too many including my self.

The issue with the limited scope -- many things can contribute to HVAC problems....

And many point to the worst case scenario...

I've had a blend door actuator and fan motor fail at different times and it had nothing to do with poor cleaning of the aluminum block during manufacturing.

At 5,000 miles I had my coolant tested and it showed a high concentrate of aluminum in the coolant. But no sign of sludge which can come from casting sand or mixing OAT with HOAT..

I get class action letters all the time and they get tossed in the trash.

If you are referring to that McDonald's case, actually as much i as I hate frivolous suits, that Hot Coffee one was legit. I work in the Legal industry as a videographer for Depositions and trial tech for over 25 years. McDonald's got hit because they KNEW what they did was wrong and even heated the coffee higher then recommended to make it stay hotter for longer.

I can provide a great video made about it that shows what McDonald's did was terrible.

I think this might be a case where a non-technical person is confusing "cooling" (aka A/C) and "cooling system" (aka radiator, etc).

Adding that McD's knew that super-heating their coffee would injure customers, off-handed commented that these customers were totally worthless jerks, and the CEO signed his name to it.

It was a little humor to make a point that a heater should produce heat and "regular " coffee should be hot.
I get the too hot part. I spent almost 60 days in the Kansas University burn unit with my brother with 3rd degree burns from a broken water faucet from a shower. He has spina bifida and is paraplegia and his body /skin isn't like mine.

Yes, and easier to verify

By contrast, the intermittent HVAC problems (which I have on both of my FCA vehicles) may have different causes, and haven't been experienced by the dealership service tech

My family in the Orlando area, bundle up in their parkas, and run their car heaters at full, whenever the temperature drops into the 60's.
