Lift Dilemma

I thought I had my mind made up - Mopar 4" lift, Goodyear MTR 35x12.50x17 C rated tires on AEV Pintler wheels.
I drive by a business where a sweet black JK sits outside, a few times a week, and decided to go in and talk with the owner. I've looked at his already and noticed that he has the Mopar kit, so I asked him, "Seriously, how does it ride compared to stock?" His immediate response, "It rides like sh!t. I only drive a two miles to work and back a day, but the other day I took it to my Mother-in-Law's 40 miles away and it was awful."
I asked if he had installed adjustable lower control arms or geo correction brackets, and he said he hadn't, and didn't seem to know anything about them. I told him from what i read, they can help with the ride. It also is worth mentioning that he is riding on 10 ply Toyo 315/70/17 tires.
I really like the ride of my '17 JKUR and do not want to give that up, that's why I'm leaning towards the C-rated tires. I'm tempted to leave it stock, but just love the look of a lifted Jeep. I'll be using mine for 95%+ on road and just want a nice, similar to stock, ride. I'd be happy with a 2.5" or 4" lift.
Any honest opinions would be appreciated, and I have used the Search function for days, and am now more confused on what to do.

Thanks!

4 inch lift is tall for 35"s. I would stick with a 2.5 lift. If your lift doesn't come with control arms, get those or the drop brackets. Mine rides a smidge stiffer then stock (stock teraflex shock) but it rides far from shit
