I loosened those body mount bolts, used a pry bar to shift the slider mount a little into a position where it had adequate clearance around the body mount and the re-tightened/torqued the bolt. No more contact, no more squeaking. While my issue was with the front mounts, I imagine that this could occur at any of the body mounts but the fix would be the same.

I'm glad to hear you got this figured out!

I'm interested in just me examples of how these look on different peoples Jeeps. There are not many examples on the interwebs. I guess I'm also interested on how these fit against the body, are they snug or is there a gap, can you see the pinch seems. Some photos I can clearly see a Gap but other seem more snug...how I hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

I'm with you, these by far are my favorite looking functional rock slides/steps. 95% sure these are my next purchase for my Jeep.

Sorry for the late reply, but no, I havenít been able to fix the squeaking yet due to just being too busy at work. I am planning on getting under the Jeep this week and try some of the remedies mentioned here. FWIW they look great and l would love to keep them, but if I canít stop the squeaking, they will have to go.

Hope you got the squeak(s) fixed. One reason I did the work I did in post #99 was aimed at eliminating the risk of a squeak. I've had zero issues since the install.

On another note. I now have a roof top tent and these sliders absolutely rock for being able to setup the tent with ease. You can quickly and easily skirt the side of the jeep while setting up the tent. Don't have a great picture, but here is a recent one.

I would be interested to know that as well, really looking at these guys. I thought I read somewhere that they were supposed to be coming out with an updated version towards the end of this year, I could also just be making that up.

Bought some on Black Friday, but wonít be installing them until Spring. Jeep is hibernating for the winter. Couldnít pass up the deal from NorthRidge.

I think the new version is for the JL.

I wonder how durable these are. Anyone do a review on them that has had them for a while? How’s the install?

Looked at these and bought LoDís Signature Series Rock Rails. Liked the frame mount... more work, same usable step, a bit higher reach. I actually like the look of the destroyer rock rail/steps better tho.

However you choose, they make great stuff.

That depends on one’s needs. Nothing against the Signature Series sliders, but like most sliders they are formed from round steel tube with smooth edges, including the steps. Which is great for sliding over/along obstacles or in the case of the steps, allowing things to more easily slide off of them. Whereas the Destroyers are formed from more square-ish steel with the inset steps cut into them and having sharp, pronounced edges that really grab and hold the tread of shoes/boots. Probably not a big difference in areas that don’t see much rain, snow or freezing temps, but when a step with a smooth rounded edge gets coated with water, mud, frost, slush, snow or ice it becomes a slippery shin/knee breaker.

I spent a fair amount of effort looking for sliders that offered steps with really positive footing before I found the Destroyers. Even then I had to wait a while for them to become available. But it was worth it and I don’t think I could be happier with them.

I think the destroyers bolt to the frame and the body. Is this right and how was the install?

I like the signature series as well but I don’t like having to drill holes in the frame or having them welded.

I had the LOD sliders that came out before the Destroyers. I put my order in 2/11 for the Destroyer Rock Sliders for my ‘15 JKUR. Originally they were supposed to ship in a week. Haven’t received yet. Just got off the phone with Chris @LOD. He says they have completely re-Engineered the way the sliders connect with the JK to be more like the connection used for the JLs. Says it’s much better and I should be very happy with them. We will see. Supposed to ship at the end of next week. I’ll post up pics and a review after I install.

I bought the Destroyer sliders during last yearís Black Friday. Couldnít pass on the price. Unfortunately, they are still boxed up and the Jeep is stored in the garage for the winter. Soon as the weather breaks and I get a few days off.

I knew they were coming out with an updated version after having to call and ask a few questions about the bumpers. I'll anxiously be awaiting you to update us with what you think of them once you get a chance to put them on.

We absolutely have! The Destroyer Sliders for the JK are now frame mounted! These sliders are 100% bolt on if only using as a step. If you intend hit the trail, they come with additional mounting locations which you will drill and install a self threading bolt. Same great look only stronger! Also keep your eyes open for our 2 door Destroyer Sliders coming out this summer!

Just opened the box. No instructions, just a hardware parts list. I could not find any instructions on your website for the older installation. Maybe you can offer some guidance, this could be a challenge.

No issues at all, just bringing them inline with our JL sliders and soon to be released 2dr versions for the JL and JK...

Just did the first fitting last week for the 2dr Destroyer Sliders! One more to go and then we build production jigs, then we're off to the races. Maybe 3-4 weeks give or take. These are frame mounted just like the JL Destroyer sliders and the newly redesigned JK Destroyer 4dr sliders!

@LoD Offroad: what is the wait time for 4-door, frame mounted Destroyers for JK?
Not buying quite yet, but planning purchases for later in the year.

Ok, so I got the sliders installed today. First, @LoD the instructions to mount the newly engineered sliders for the JKU need to be updated. On page 3, as part of step A, you should instruct owners to remove the bolt located inside the skid plate cross member before setting the slider. If you don’t do this prior to setting the slider, no way to get the bolt out without taking the slider complete back off after following all of the other steps. Incredibly frustrating for sure. Also, you should explain that the additional 2 washers needed between mount and frame when attaching at the cross member insert should be put in prior to placing otherwise you can’t get them in, and again, you must disconnect everything and start over from scratch. I’d also suggest they use some painters tape to hold the washers in place and/or have the help of a second person. Again, super frustrating. I’v included pictures of these items. Also, would be very helpful if there were torque suggestions for the bolts/nuts.

On to the good stuff now. The sliders came packaged amazingly well. After they wrap the sliders in plastic and set in box with some protective cardboard cutouts, they fill the entire carton with “stuff” in order to create a space where the sliders will not move or shift during transit. I was very pleased with this. The sliders were coated very well and even, welds looked good. This is a quality product. They bolted in with zero issues and I did drill the additional holes where suggested if using off-road. I would highly suggest these to anyone considering them. If you run into any customer service issues, be patient with the folks. At LoD. I believe they mean well and helped whenever I needed it, just had to go back to the well a few times. Communication related to a pending order could improve as well.

If anyone has any questions, let me know, I’d be glad to answer them.

Those look great.

I've already got the Destroyer front and rear bumper so I'll probably end up going with those as well. I am however debating on getting them coated with spray on bed liner before I put them on as I've already had several issues with my bumpers rusting. I've got the rear bumper with tire carrier and I've had it for less than 6 months but there are at least two corners where the finish has bubbled up and is rusting.
