Lose usb play on aftermarket head unit?

Thinking about upgrading speakers with an amp but need pre-outs. So considering aftermarket radio or something like clean sweep. I know there are adapters to keep steering wheel controls. What else will I lose besides bluetooth mic for phone calls? What will happen with USB in arm rest console?

Has anyone used clean sweep? How do I adjust the EQ with a flat signal? All sorts of confused here.

The usb in the console is connected to a uconnect module behind the heat/AC control panel. It connects with a micro usb. You just need a micro female to male USB adapter.

Actually, it's a mini USB female to male USB

i am doing the research right now too. i had initially planned to wait till my free year of sirius ran out, but i never use it. so i have bumped up my stereo upgrade. you asked about the bluetooth mic and the usb in the center console. ciarraikerry is right about grabbing that adapter, and then you can make use of the usb with your aftermarket hu. for the bluetooth mic, you dont need to lose that either. from what i gathered on the forum, if you use the iDatalink Maestro, you can retain the use of the factory mic. one thing i found out too is that you will lose the fader control (no rear fade) unless you buy a certain hu. pioneer will lose the rear fade, but most kenwood and alpine retain it. if you go to the iDatalink - Maestro - Home site, it will tell you all the features that you get/retain based on the hu you choose.

good luck to you. once i do my install, i am planning to post up a separate thread, as it looks like there are a lot of threads, but nothing that details my exact factory setup and exact aftermarket plans.
