Lug Nuts

Anyone know a good brand or model of lug nuts to replace the ones on the 2016 jeep wrangler jk?

Yes they do but my experience has been they carry lots that have odd numbers of the lug nuts so you end up purchasing more than necessary.
I ordered a set of 23 (2007 - 2018) JK Chrome Acorn Bulged Lug Nuts from CJPony Part#WHLLN55 that work for me.

Here is a link to all of the lug nuts that we offer:

https://www.quadratec.com/categories/jeep_wheels/lug_nuts?kw=lug%20nuts

Just be sure to choose your Jeep from the drop down menu.

Here are a few that I recommend:

https://www.quadratec.com/products/92806_900X_B_PG.htm

I have those on my 2012 JK and my 05 WK and I love them.

I also recommend:

https://www.quadratec.com/products/92806_900X_A_PG.htm

https://www.quadratec.com/products/92806_100X_PG.htm

All of those come in chrome and black

Have a great day,
Hailey

You can't beat mcgard. I've used them for 25 years now on nearly every vehicle I've owned. Hammered on them with impact wrenches, and not a flake. They don't rust.

What's on my JK? Mcgards without locks.

McGard

I have two sets, including locks. Chrome for the summer, and black for my winter wheels.

They are made in USA.

Do the McGard work with the stock lug wrench?

Guess so. I just measured and stock ones are 0.75”.

Yes, the McGard lug nuts are 3/4" (or is it 19mm?); same size as stock.

You're looking at the wrong ones then. They should be 60 degree cone seat, bulge and should be 3/4" (19mm).

These are the ones I bought from Jeg's.

I bought the DPAccessories lug nuts on Amazon. They are solid steel and after 3 years, they still look great. Not a spec of rust on them.

I would suspect the profit margin is considerably lower on the Gorilla's vs. the ones they are recommending.

I've used Gorilla on both of my JKs. Never broke one. 216,000 combined miles.

They most certainly exist. Here's the McGard's in 3/4" hex.

Bummer that they don’t have a set of 23 that don’t have locking nuts.
I don’t want to hassle with locking nuts.
And if you don’t want locking nuts you have to buy 6 sets of 4(?). So basically $100. Yeah, yeah, I know the number police are going to say “It’s not $100, it’s ONLY $83.94”.
Well, add shipping and or tax and you just burned a $100 bill.

I like the locking lugs that McGard uses, and I feel better leaving my Jeep parked most anywhere. $1000.00 worth of wheels being stolen would suck.

I had McGard in the past. Never broke one, but the action of removing and reinstalling for service caused several of them to start rusting around the edges.

Both my Jeep and my Chrysler have Gorilla now. I like that the locking nut appears at first glance to be a normal nut, whereas the McGards I had used a pattern on top like Mopar does and makes it look odd. Sadly, the Gorilla's also rust around the edges. Whatever that chrome coating is that Gorilla and McGard use, it doesn't hold up too well. The nuts aren't terribly rusted and they've never broken, but it's disappointing when you have them on a show car (my Chrysler) that is otherwise immaculate. It's not a lot of rust and it's only on several of the 43 I have between the two vehicles, but it's irritating.

Certainly far better than the two-piece junk Chrysler Group/DiamlerChrysler/FCA has used at the factory for decades.

I've got the Alpine brake light and camera gizmo on the back of mine. It uses a lug nut in the center to hold it on.

I've had one of the OEM lock nuts on it until a few days ago and it's always bugged me. They're big and bulbous and ugly.

Now I've got one of the Gorilla locks on it and it looks great.

Mopar/OEM lock nuts are McGard lock nuts. They are rebadged McGard product.

Well they’re ugly. And they stick out so far I’m sure you could take them off with a pair of vice grips.

The last one are single Gorilla lug nuts. I only put a few, we offer so many that are also included in the first link.

Thanks,
Hailey

Those singles have turned out to be a great bonus after I wrecked a few as mentioned above.

They're reasonably priced and I can get as many as I need. That's definitely a point in favour of Gorilla.

Be sure you get one piece lug nuts. The one pictured above by Q tec is a two piece. The cap is pressed into the top of the nut.
