Manual stick shift shake

Newb question. Just seems strange...brand new Jeep and the gear shift is shaking all the time. At a complete standstill, and in all gears and all speeds. I know I know I'm thinking motor mount or transmission mount, but in a BRAND NEW Jeep JK?!

I've searched and some say this is normal? Just want the reassurance if it is, but if it's not...where and what am I looking for on the mounts?

Thanks...happy trails!

x2 its completely normal in a rear wheel drive stick vehicle. Its very noticeable if your used to front wheel drive vehicles b/c the shifters on those are remote mounted and run by cables not bolted directly to the trans like the jeep is

Take that puppy down a rough dirt road, then you will be able to see the shifter dance all over the place. ;-)

This was a question I was going to ask. But, someone beat me to it! Had a feeling it might be normal. This is my first SUV vehicle I've own. But I have driven other trucks and what not. And I have notice that on them. But from what I can remember, they were older ones I've seen that happen on.

But Glad to know the answer!

I have a 10 Rubi with a 6spd and it only "shakes" if I hit a bump or going over rr tracks. Other than that you can feel a vibration as you're driving if you place your hand on the stick but it doesn't "shake" driving down the highway or at a standstill. I really don't see how that could be normal.

Do you mean a shake like DW, or vibration? The first time I took my jeep out the shifter shook like it DW , felt like the tranny was going to drop out from under it, scared the crap out of me. None of my other jeep done this. On the road nothing but a slight vibration.
