MasterTop Ultimate Summer Combo Tops in MasterTwill Fabric

So I'm seeing this combo setup on @Quadratec , but no reviews. I know MasterTop has been around for a while now and they've had other combo tops similar to this previously, but (unless i'm mistaken) this appears to be a redesign. The windstopper part, in particular, looks to have been changed from previous versions and different from other makers of similar setups. I've like this style for a few years, but they all shared the same problem with the back window portion, they're open on the sides which allows cold air and rain to come in. This design appears to have fixed this problem. I'm hoping Rick (or someone else from Quadratec) can chime in with more information on the design/construction of this setup.

OK, that new design is a serious upgrade from the design I have. Not that there is anything really wrong with mine but it would be so much better with the fully enclosed wind stopper and the cable top.

I really don't notice the open back much but unless I carefully position the top, I do get water leakage in the rain around the door surrounds. The cable sides would fix that issue.

With this new design of the Mastertop combo this comes with a wrap around windjammer (the windstopper plus) where it does not leave the sides open and it goes all of the way to the door surrounds. This provides more protection against the elements.

That's a nice upgrade for the 4dr's. I always wondered who would buy the older style for a 4dr. I really like my 2 dr version, especially the fact that I can unzip the window on warmer days and then zip it up when it's colder.

I've often thought about getting one for my 2 door, but then I look at the seat backs and figure I'd have to move my seat way up the wind jammer on.

How tall are you, and do you have top change your normal seating position?

I'm 5'10 with long legs and I don't have to scooch forward to accommodate. I don't run a Bimini or a Safari top. I just put the top up with no windows with the jammer. This winter I didn't even put the doors on. I just put the heat on full and the jammer kept the cold off my back. My left leg was another story...
The Master Top version has long straps, so you shouldn't have problems like the windjammers that wrap around the sports bar pillar. Of course, the more gap there is, the more likely for cold air to get in.

The two top straps could have been done better. The straps meet in the top center of the sound bar. All the other straps have clips at one end and a long strap. Why they put the clips on the top for these two, I'll never know.

Anyway, the jammer's up on the wall now and tops down where it belongs. Life is good.

I bought last year's style & I like it just fine. This new design of wind stopper looks much better. The Quadratec site though, doesn't appear to have a listing for it by itself. Is it only available in the whole set or can the wind stopper be purchased alone?

I only have a hardtop, currently. In this area, spring and fall has a chance of rain every other day. I don't have any help taking my top off and on, so for me to take the top off, I want at least 3 days with no chance of rain in the forecast. Last year it wasn't just spring and fall, but all summer as well. This is why I want some form of soft top for the jeep. I want something I can easily put on and off by myself and not have to worry about having to drive to work (or home) getting soaked in the rain. At the same time, temps over 100 are all too common here from late spring to early fall, so having some form of shade top (when I have my top and doors off) would be really nice.

Hi there,

Great to see you are enjoying your Master Top combo! At this time it is only available as the full combo. It may be available individually in the future.

Thanks & have a great day!

Interested to see actual pictures of this top. I DD my JKU and think this would be perfect for everyday driving. You get the open feel with the windjammer but are protected if theres a put up storm.

This is really tempting. I like to take the OEM soft top off completely whenever there is no threat of storms. It is a PIA to put back on by myself. This seems like a great compromise.

Has anyone here ordered this combo? Is there an expected ship date. The website was saying pre-order ships on March 21st, now it says ships when available.

I got a quote and everything, and was ready to pull the trigger and didn't for that exact reason.

The site now shows ship date of April 19th for the version needed for a Wrangler that came with the factory hardtop, which is the one I need.

Ouch! I want to order it but I am hesitant without a solid ship date. I probably won't even need it until June at the earliest because I'll use the soft top until then.

Might help explaining why there aren't any reviews posted for it.

That's quite a price difference if you don't have the soft top already.

Now the soft top version says April 20th. I'm going to wait until they have them in stock.

I really like the way they did that Wind Stopper.
Only problem is, I'm 6'5" tall, and doubt I could get the seat back far enough.
I wish they'd sell it separate, I'd try it out.

Two questions for the 2door Bimini:

Does it flap on the highway?

How well does it protect from occasional rain? My Jeep is always garaged, but I take it out for multi-day trips.

I did not see the Wind Stopper Plus.
I will look again, or give them a shout.
