I have a 10A and I want to put a winch on it for emergency recovery. I do not expect to use it often, but I do want to know it will work when it does. The maximus-3 package is a good deal if the winch is good. Anyone have any long term reliability data on this winch?
Haven't had to use it yet since my 10A goes where many can't. Almost got to use it last weekend but our trail leader made it up the hill first (after 5-6 tries) and winched everyone else up except for me (made it 1st try) and one other Rubicon.
Awesome .. But I was trying to figure out do I buy a whole Maximus 3 kit with winch for around 1300 or buy mounting plates from them and a 1500 winch? ( and pier pressure from everyone else I wouldn't buy anything but a Warn ) I have a cheap winch on my old TJ I paid 300 for and it's always worked great but with a new Jeep I would like to have synthetic cable, I hate to say it but the Maximus 3 winch and my winch look identical they just have synthetic cable and I have steal, but if I buy synthetic for my winch becomes out about same price is a maximus but again I would prefer to buy new for a new Jeep.
