Got my 2014 Flame Red 2-door JK with factory half doors last month. Loving the half doors. They're a little louder on the highway, especially above 70mph..... but my gas mileage SUCKS above 70, so I keep it below that anyhow. Really, really happy. I can drop the top, store the uppers behind the back seats, and it's *almost* the same as going doorless. And if it starts raining, I can put it all back together and not get wet.

Now if I can just come up with some soft storage bags for the doors, or some kind of rack, so i can fold up the back seat and mount them back there... go doorless but keep the doors with me!

What are people doing for aftermarket automatic locks, by the way? I'd like to have a remote and an alarm that locks the doors and the tailgate. I don't need switches in the dash, just the key fob. (Since I ordered my 2014 with half doors, I didn't get power options)

Looking to keep it relatively inexpensive, as I just dropped quite a bit of quid on the jeep itself.

Yep, it was at you. I checked into it. The harness plug is there, but the wiring is not. So, you'd need to get the mopar harness for the doors that have it as an option. Or, let a shop do it. They usually bundle the installation into the cost of the product. I have not seen any kit for the install.

If you use your windows on a regular basis for drive thru, toll roads, etc then yes the plastic window is not as ideal as auto windows.
If you are like me and don't go thru drive thru or have any toll roads nearby then the half doors are perfect. On nice days just leave the uppers at home or toss in the back.

Half doors are an acceptable predicament. :thumb:

Just about to order a 1/2 door 2014 JKR. Can I order the premium top with that, or does it come only with the base top?

Can't get premium top with half doors. Not sure if your aware but the deep tint sunscreen windows, which can be ordered with half doors, are not standard on a JKR. Just in case you wanted them :D

Just thinking out loud, but maybe I will be the only Granite Crystal JKU Rubicon with factory half doors Jeep makes. Instead of the 1% club I will just be "the one". Unlikely I will be the only one, but I seriously doubt there will be many of us. If I'm not "the one" and there are others then maybe I will claim to be "the first" Granite JKU Rubicon with half doors. I don't care how many are made. I just can't freaking wait to pick this thing up!:)

I've seen three of those already.
