MOPAR touch screen inquiry

Hey guys so I have a 130 with connectivity package hands free etc, I want a touch screen but I dont really need the 730 as I already have the module. Is the 430N plug n play if you already have the connectivity pkg?

As long as it came from a high speed bus vehicle, it is plug and play. The 130 with the connectivity package has the external UConnect module and that's what the 430N needs.

This. i also swapped in a 430 for the 130 that was in mine. it works great and was plug and play. make sure you get the security code for the new radio.

Are there any different variations? Someone is willing to sell me a 430N from a 2009 for $40. Are these any different than the one from 2017?

From a 09 JK, no. That will be just fine and won't need the security code.

Yes, all JK's are high speed units. 07-18. The difference between the early ones and the later ones is the addition of the anti theft code, which happened in 2012.

The anti theft code is in the firmware. You can update the UConnect software to whatever the latest version for the radio model but you normally can't just update the firmware. An older radio could have slightly different hardware and flashing a FW version not meant for the specific hardware will brick a system.
