My battle with the dreaded "Gascap" indicator

My '13 JK has only 10K miles - about 1000 miles ago, the Gascap indicator started appearing which evolved into the CEL.

After 3 trips to the dealer, where they 1) found a loose fitting and tightened it, 2) did a smoke test ( could not find the leak ), 3) and finally installed a software upgrade ... it always came back the next day.

I did not run it for a month or so, as I was traveling and it is my second vehicle. When I went to use it - the battery was dead - no clicking or anything. After charging for 24 hours, it started fine with no Gascap indicator. After a month - still nothing.

So a hard reboot seems to have solved it in the short run - lets see if it relearns the Caspcap issue over time ( I hope not ! )

2013 2 door JK - just stereo/nav upgrades

Put a little silicone on the gas cap gasket and reset the message. It worked for me
