need advice

Ok, I have a 2012 JKU with a 4" zone lift and 17" aev pintlers with 35 x 12.50 x 17 nitto trail grapplers. This morning I was getting the oil changed and the tires rotated, (first time), when the service guy came out and told me that while lifting the jeep to rotate the tires the rear sway bar top connector was hitting the inside of the tire at full drop. now I thought that these wheels were OK without spaces but I am now confused and concerned. after spending $$$ I am going to have to add spacers. I am afraid of spacers...what do you guys suggest??

Spider Trax 1.5" spacers are completely safe if mounted correctly and maintained. Very little involved with having them on your jeep. Mount them and check the torque every tire rotation.

Your suspension is catching the sway links because of the lift and the poor backspacing of the stock wheels. Most lift makers require that you add wheel spacers if you plan on installing their 2.5 + kits with stock wheels for this reason.

I am checking out the spacers but the wheels are not stock. they are aftermarket AEV Pentlers. I thought these were supposed to be good wheels and correctly backspaced.

Gotcha.

Aftermarket wheels can still have poor backspacing unfortunately. It depends on what you have. What is the BS and offset of your wheels?

Hmm...I don't believe there should be a problem then. Maybe the sway link "bolt" is making contact not the link itself.

That may be the case...if so, I will pull the bolts and flip them around......also.....when the axle is torking during wheeling i don't believe that the wheel will be at the same angle as when you drop the axle when you use a chassis lift to lift the vehicle. I will be crawling back under!!!

Ahhh se you learn something every day. I have been around a few sets and they were all 4.7. I even looked at buying some for about 2 seconds and didnt even notice they offered more then one back spacing option.
