Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

If you don't plan to off-road, I'd say yes, new lights sounds like the place to start.

Post pix so we can see it --avatar is too small.

Welcome to the nut house. I have the same make/model/year and love it. I don't plan any mods in the immediate future. I'd like drive-line armor, front and rear bumpers, and maybe some rock sliders; just for looks because I don't expect to ever go rock crawlin'. However, don't tell any of the hardcore Jeepers on here because they'll hate me for bein' a poser. I don't care if I don't ever go, I just love being prepared to go... ROCK ON!

Congrats on the new toy. I'm 6500 miles into my first Jeep also.
It's addictive. like others said there are a boat load of mods out there.
I'm taking a different approach to the mods I'm doing.
I'm driving it for awhile and seeing how I am using it and how the trails around me are before diving into modifying anything.
Drive it a little while, see how you do and how it does and how you end up using it before pouring money into it that you may or may not need.

Congrats on the jeep. I just got one recently as well. Only mods I've done so far are small, mostly interior, mods. I'm thinking about lights, wheels and tires as soon as I decide what I want. And I'll get a spiderweb shade next summer.

For cheap mods I have done grab handles, floor tray liners, dash tray/phone mount (09s don't have a dash tray), polyfill speaker and sub enclosures, quick removal hard top screws, replaced the decals to match my football team's colors (the previous owner had changed them to turquoise, gross), and built a harness system for the dog to ride in the back. Then built a hoist in my garage for removing the hard top alone.

Have fun. Your spending money sure doesn't last long with one of these things.
