New owner, needing wheel and tire help!

Looking to put new wheels and tires on my 15 unlimited sahara. I found some 18's that I really like and the backspacing is listed at 5". I don't have a lift on my jeep (yet) and I want to put 33's on the 18's. I guess I'm just wondering if the 5" back spacing is going to run ok with my jeep? I'm completely new with all this stuff so I just want to make sure I don't screw something up haha.

You'll be fine. Factory BS is 6.25" so the wheels/tires will stick out a little more.

Alright, thank you! Does it matter that the offset is 0?

Offset/BS are measurements from opposite sides of the wheel, for your purpose the only one that matters is BS. You're fine with almost all 33" but once (if) you go wider you'll want a little less. 12" wide tires need about 4.5" BS, 13.5" wide need about 3.5" BS.

Good luck and have fun

I could be off on this, but I believe some lifts will require a min. of 4.5" of BS on the wheels. You may want to do a little research on what lift you want to do down the road and make sure this isn't going to be an issue.

Happy to help.

Just plan with the end in mind. IF you might lift, IF you think you might go bigger/wider, go ahead and plan for that now and get a little lower BS. The idea is to buy once.

The tires I'm looking at are 12.5 so I'll need the 4.5 back spacing right?
