New to Jeep installation

I am sure this is been talked about 1000 times on here but just wanted to get some fresh insight from people that love jeeps. I just installed a 3 1/2 inch lift on my 2017 jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. I want to run 35’s x12.50 on my Jeep. Unfortunately I live in New York City and I won’t get to do much off roading. I have found it very difficult to get good advice on what size wheel I should run with that size tire I have found it very difficult to get good advice on what size wheel I should run with that size tire. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Didn’t really know if I should go with 17’s or 20’s. I haven’t found many 17 inch wheels with a 10 inch width. What I have read is that the 10 inch width is recommended with 35’s

I have never heard of a width recommendation based on tire height, like 35. I have heard of wheel width recommendation's based on tire width. I have always read 9 inch wheel is best for a 12.5 width tire. Now that is assuming some offroad travel and possibly airing down. For on road it probably does not matter. I don't know of a 35x12.5 tire that recommends against a 9 inch wide rim. 9 and 10 inches almost always both fall within the recommendations. A 10" wide wheel will make your tire a bit wider and stick out a little more from the fender. You will generally get a softer ride on a 35" tire with a 17" rim compared to a 20" rim. But you will get a little better handling from a 35" tire on a 20" rim. Its really a personal choice. I split the difference and went with a 18x9 wheel with 35x12.5 tires.

Welcome to the forum!

17X9 is a very common rim size for the Jeep and that works very well with 35's. Avoid 20" rims if you ever plan on taking your Jeep off road.
