New, with a bunch of silly questions

I'm new to the jeep world and after reading this forum and watching videos I have a few questions that seem simple but...
First, I saw a video where they were welding their winches to the bumper. Is this necessary? I don't do any serious offroading and don't think I'll need it. I was also told that the barricade front bumper I bought came with a winch mount. It seems if you were pulling any kind of weight, such as a stuck jeep, that the bumper would twist out as the winch pulled. Also, I am interested in the Pull Pal as most trail riding I will do here in south texas doesn't have many trees, but the price seems a little steep for what little I go offroad. Has anyone used a foldable boat anchor or something else that will dig into the ground just the same?
Second, I just ordered some light bars. A 120w and 72w for the hood and bull bar. The previous owner cut the fog light wires for what I assume were his own lights. Does the wiring that runs to the stock fog lights have enough power for my light bars? I would really like to use the stock switch for the fogs rather than cut a hole for and aftermarket toggle.
One more just out of curiousity, I have read a ton of info on lifts on here and have not once seen the lift I was told mine came with. The ride is great so far it just worries me a bit that no one else runs it. I bought it with a Clayton short arm suspension and Bilstein shocks. He extended the brake lines, regeared to 4.88s, and installed a programmer so I just assumed he went with a quality lift as well.

If you want to use the factory switch to run your light bars it is possible but wire your light bars up to a relay and use your factory fog wires as a trigger wire...the factory fog harnesses and switch aren't designed to pull that type of wattage but by using it as a trigger wire only there won't be any heavy electrical load on it. That will also give you the option of replacing the factory fogs later without modification if you wanted.

Welcome to the forum and the Jeep life! Post some pictures of your rig!

As long as the Barricade Front Bumper was installed as per the instructions it will hold up to winching just fine. The bumper is designed to be used with a winch so using one won't cause any issues or damage.

Let me know if you ever have any questions about anything. All of us here on the forum are here to help. If you're looking to add other modifications to your Jeep, PM me before you buy. I'll make sure you get the best price and you're taken care of!
