One Little Rock

So I was changing my oil this weekend. While under my Jeep, I noticed a loose rock resting in the hole on a skid plate. Nothing huge. Standard road gravel about half the size of an acorn.

So i removed it and tossed it in my neighbors yard.

It's like I have a whole new Jeep. I've had it almost a year. All the little rattles and other occasional noises are gone. Every Jeep I have ever been in had all sorts of little rattles and shakes. I thought it was just a Jeep thing.

It's extremely quiet now. It's weird not to hear it anymore. I am seriously thinking about trying to find the rock and put it back.

You can hear that over the motor and road noise??? It always amazes me what people can hear with normal hearing!

All I hear is the motor and the road now. Before it sounded like I has a loose panel or something when I went over bumps or at certain RPM's there was a long rattle.

Maybe you could find the one that's been in my undercarriage for 6 months too?

Now you just need to un-gag the women in the back storage area to get rid of the muffled screams.

I have a two door. There isn't a storage area.

You would be amazed at what causes the annoying noises in a vehicle. You can get the tiniest pebble inside a catalytic converter heat shield and it sounds like machine gun fire.

I'm told a mouse trapped in your AC blower motor makes a horrible noise for a bit, then goes away. I can't confirm the noise, but I can confirm that they cause a helluva vibration and a nasty smell after a few weeks of 100 plus degree temps.
