One-touch Windows

2011 2 door.

Is the passenger side supposed to be one-touch as well?

Driver's side works fine, press, slight click, goes down by it self. Passenger side, press all the way, no anything. Have to hold it.

Just searched here and jeep.com:

2011 Wrangler, resulting in significantly reduced interior noise. Controlling just how much open air you want to allow in, is easy with one-touch-down power windows.

Should it be both or is it only the driver's side?

Thanks!

Speaking from my car. Put the window down and hold the switch for a couple seconds when the window is in the full down position. Just a shot in the dark for a Jeep.

I have it in my car too - hold for a second or so and it goes down by itself. I like the Jeep better as you feel a click in the switch that signals it will continue go down on its own.

Thanks for the suggestions. Press and hold.

Turns out it's not broken, rather it's pretty "stiff". It finally clicks and rolls down by itself. Undecided if it's because it's never been used or there is something wrong with it. Need to give it a good push to engage well beyond what you're used to with the driver's side, to the point where the plastic housing almost buckles in. Will monitor it for the next while.

Thats how mine was, but it got worse. I just had it replaced even though I rarely use the auto down feature.

My passenger window is slow to respond. I've finally learned to hold the button a little longer for the passenger window to be 'one-touch'. Driver's side just takes a slight press of the button, passenger side I have to hold for a second or two.

If you have to hold it then, at least with an '08, it's broken. On mine, when I feel the click it does the auto down - the click is about half-way down on the switch, and once you hit it you can let go of the switch and the window continues down on its own.

Same, both are auto down (front)
Has anyone played with a way to make all four auto-up? i.e. when parking especially at night I prefer to have all of them up but my fingers don't bend that way to hold them all at the same time ;-) Perhaps a mod to add a single button that you can hold that rolls them all up? Not sure what the wiring would look like for that but it sounds reasonable....

When I bought my 2011 JKU my passenger side front window didn't have the detent that allowed for one touch down. I took it back to the dealership and they decided to order me a new switch. Upon removing the original they told me that Jeep must have made a mistake and placed a rear non-one touch switch in the front position. Now both fronts are one touch down like was described in the brochure and it was all covered under warranty, costing me nothing other than one afternoon with out my new JKU.

At least it was just an afternoon, replacing the rear window gas strut thing is apparently a two day project so they can "make sure the Jeep is still drivable and safe" after replacement... w t f>>???
