Painted black sahara rims...anyone?

I have a '10 sahara unlimited and am trying to blacken the rims, i really like the look of this. Has anyone done this to their rims? I have seen a thread which i tried searching but failed to find where someone i believe sanded down their rim and used some form of spray paint to make them black. Has anyone done this that can explain their process and perhaps show pictures of it? Any help is greatly appreciated

Some tips and photos of end results. The first two are black rims, third link deals more with color matching (but still interesting).

Good luck!

Yeah....they are around here. Someone has a yellow Sahara with black rims. I've also posted some photos I've found...but I can't remember where. I think the Sahara rims look sharp in black (bed-lined)...probably because of the white outline on the wording on the tires.

Plasti Dip MK5 rims - YouTube

Instead of wasting time and money on tape, just use the index card method to make life even easier.

If you decide you are bored with the look and don't like it anymore,

And if you do damage the coating...

Try that with paint.....

look for a powder coater in your area. They will give it a factory look.
