Pro Comp LED Headlights Issues Poll.

So there has been some issues that others are experiencing lately with this product (# 76402P). If you are one of those PC headlight owners, please fill out the poll and add some detail as to the issue. Links to other threads you have started, etc. Also, post whether you have the latest dealer flash on the ECM.

2018 JKU, had radio static issues with 130S radio, both headlights had delays switching from highs back to lows, and one side would always take longer than the other. After highs being on for more than a few mins they would get stuck on. Got a replacement from 4WP, replacement did the same too, but no issues with the stock highs.

ProComp lights get stuck on high beam, sometimes just left light, but most times both.
2008 Jeep 10,400 miles, never had dealer flash.

Thank you for posting and participating in the poll. The more data we can feed back to the mfg, the better.

So far no issues with switching hi to lo, but had some static with stock 430 non-nav. Did add some ferrite cores that fixed it.

2016 JKUR and 2008 JKR 2 different sets experiencing delays when switching from high to low beams up to 30 seconds and a dimming flicker before the highs will finally cut off.

Well documented in the other thread.

No dealer flash to my knowledge.

If I switch to low beams while driving OR turn off the engine and wait a couple minutes and restart the engine, the high beam still won't reduce to low beam. If I wait about 30 mins+, and then restart the engine, the low beam will return.

Only one headlight does this, the driver side. Both headlights were slow to reduce from high to low from the 1st day, but it didn't bother me. There's a 4WP about an hr from. Not at all psyched about going there. Plan to contact Procomp this week though.

The low beams do switch on immediately though, the highs just take time to completely cut off.

Both my headlights started-out like this also.

eta - I kept the Procomp box, etc.

So a new set solved your problem with the delay?

Question was meant for @78S_106E

2017, Unsure if I have the most current ECM flash with a 430N radio.

I get some static on the radio, but am going to put some ferrite beads inline. Not really a big deal to me since I spend 80% of the time connected to streamed content.

Additionally, I did not vote on the headlight high beam delay as it is only a fraction of a second.

In my opinion nothing major for the amount of light output and clarity from the lamps.

Well they had been working fine since I installed them 1 month ago. But I had not had them on for more than 10 min at a time. Last night I had them on for about 20 min. That is when one started to flicker and suddenly the high beam came on and stayed on till I got home. (I really felt bad for the other cars, that light is very bright) Tried them again after about 20 min being off and all seems fine.

I do not have the dealer flash on my 2014 jku. Nor do I think that would be a factor either way due to the way anti flicker circuits are generally wired. Flashing would eliminate the dips but this would not magically bypass the traditional antiflicker setups.

My guess is the circuit is not able to bleed off power correctly and eventually hits a breakdown point (turning on the high beam) Once it is able to bleed off the power while off it resets and everything works fine.

I will be contacting Pro comp today as I really don't like getting pulled over.

Forgive my ignorance, are you saying the circuit of the Jeep or the circuit within the lights aren’t bleeding off power?

I have noticed that on my JK (2016) they are slow to switch back to low beam, maybe 1-2 seconds.

Bummer! What is the tag number on the new ones compared to the old Sir? I do not know if this is a lot number or if they all have this same number on them. Maybe others can post whether they have the similar number as this image.

Hey Allen, is that cable in the back of your picture connected to one harness connectors?

Those are not my images. They are @oChaos_Nine images. So I cannot speak as to their orientation or what is or isn't there. Maybe he will chime in and provide more clarity.

Update on the tag numbers:

The top number is the build date or month T201809 is September 2018. The number below that is the production run number. The design and or specs have not chaged since the initial run released for sale. The investigation continues.

That cable is an h13-h4 adapter that comes with the pro comps but it’s not needed on jeeps. I had it out and was using it while testing with an anti flicker harness to see if that helped the delay.

Where did you place the ferrite cores? I have the 430 non-nav too and have static. Ferrite cores arrived and will install tomorrow but just wondering where I should install them. Not sure it matters but just figured I'd ask.

Thanks for any feedback.

Itís basically a metal bead that you clip to the headlight wire and it counteracts the electromagnetic waves that interfere with radio signals. You can get them on Amazon pretty cheap.

I got them on Amazon.
I wasn't sure what size to get so I got a box that includes different sizes.

See the below link:

Spoke with procomp about the high beam coming on and not turning off. They advised me that they were aware of an issue with a small batch of lights. (but had no details as to the production dates.)

They advised me to make a run over to 4wp and swap them out, or to bug Allen and ask for a refund.

Well, I'm a huge fan of the Pro Comps. And with a set that I've had for well over a year and have made trips to California and back and never had a single issue, it's a bummer to see this happening to a few people.

However, I feel compelled to reserve my recommendation until this is sorted out.
@AOR I certainly appreciate what you are putting in to this. I bought mine from you and if this gets sorted out, I hope you get many more orders.

No, I haven't gotten a 2nd set of Procomps yet. I had just posted my above post about my Procomp high beam issues, then you posted your above question on the same day I posted.

Anyway, I still need to call AOR or Procomp about it (or do what they told you to do... visit 4WP or ask for refund from AOR).

Don't really want a refund. @AOR any suggestions for me?
