Quality since Fiat bought Jeep?

My current Jeep was made by Daimler. I'll soon be in the market for a new Jeep and I'm wondering what the quality is like since Fiat came in?

I have a 14JKU only issue I have had is a loose connector on the seat belt wiring harness. They fixed it of course. 12500 and some odd miles.

I have a 2014 with 9300 miles, my brother a 2014 with 14k, no issues at all for either of us.

My Jeep was made by some fine folks in Toledo. I don't think Daimler nor Fiat has much to do with it. Toledo does what Toledo does.

Exactly. Same people in the same Toledo assembly plant build them, regardless of who owns the company.

I've got a 2014 JKUR-X with 30K miles (several trips to Utah, Colorado, New Mexico) and it's been perfect from day 1. Not one issue yet.

I've got a 2014 Fiat Cherokee. It's had 2 recalls performed on it, but I've never had any issues before the recalls were performed. Although I'm happy with the Cherokee, I'm still waiting for Jeep to start acceping orders for Wranglers again.

My dealer said Jeep is not taking anymore orders for 15 models. Called 2 other dealers and was told the same thing.

Wow. I placed my order 2 weeks ago. At the time was told they would be accepting orders until June.

Glad I didn't wait!

I went to my local dealer on the 9th and got this info directly from the dealership owner. Called the other two dealers on the 11th. No clue if it's true or not, but I don't have any reason to doubt my dealer after being told the same thing by other dealers. If I could order a 15 today, I'd do it.

Agreed, but there is also product quality, not just build quality.

An assembly plant could do a great job building a vehicle, but if the components are not quality parts, the end result is crap.

On the other hand, I believe FIAT has made a big push to improve quality ratings throughout the entire product line up.

Just picked mine up.

Everything is fantastic. I keep telling my friends if you have owned an older jeep like I did few xj's 4.0L 6'ers. This will feel like driving a sports car. If you drive a mercedes or sports car....it will feel like an unrefined hunk of junk and you will cry about it on car and driver or consumer reports. If the latter you should just not be allowed to own a jeep.

Jeepers will love these fiat jeeps. Like a caddilac. Very nice. Much wow.

Non jeepers will gripe complain and should have bought a hummer h2 mega whatever or mercedes minivan.

I am extremely impressed with parts quality and build quality of a 24.750$ vehicle.

Look at the fiat 500's a girl I know has one and its a great car. Cost her like 14k for a 1 year old model and dude i tell you its super sweet. White leather interior and a stick shift with all the steering wheel controls blue tooth and all that crap standard. Its a nice car for the price!

I never considered a JK because of its lackluster powerplant. When the 2012 was released w/ the pentastar, I stopped shopping for imports.
fast forward today...
I own a 2014 JK 4dr willys, 2014 Cherokee KL latitude, and a recent acquisition of Chrysler UF 200. No more imports for me except my garage queen MBZ SL 600.

Based upon complaints, it seems like the quality is just as good/bad as it's been since 07.

I hope you get what you want, at a price that's acceptable.

Thanks. It doesn't have the dual top group that I wanted, but it has step bars that I don't want. Either way I told the dealer to get it for me if they can. It's one state over. Just waiting on the phone call for good or bad news.

That willys wheeler package is pretty overpriced for what you get.

If you AX that and the tow package, then just regear later down the road and install lockers you will have a much better rig, then get a 75$ hitch.

The willys adds a bunch of small little "details" and in my opinion wasnt worth it for so much cosmetic stuff.

6100$? you can regear and install f/r lockers for around 1600 or so. I am getting 35" wheels and tires setup on 15" mb rims for 1400$, that would give you 3,100$ to do cosmetics to your liking and maybe a small lift.

And you will have a fully locked, properly geared wrangler, with a lift and 35's.

Just my opinion is all and the direction I decided to take. You can get all this stuff done at a tire shop and offroad shop without ever turning a wrench.

My sport with hardtop, ac, 6 speed, and 9 speaker alpine was 24,750$. But it has 3.21 gears and open diffs and tiny little car wheels and tires.

The willys just seems super over priced is all. That is why i went base model.

Depends on what your needs and desires are. If you price all the items included in the Willys package, it's equivalent to what you would pay for a Sport with those options; however, not all of those options are available to add to a Sport. If you want to stay factory stock for a very capable trim, Willys is a good fit. If you are mostly interested in wheeling, then building it aftermarket can be a better value.

Little off topic, but that's $1,845 less than my '14 Rubicon sticker. Which also has heated seats, remote start, auto A/C & 4.10s ($1,190 worth of options.) Not to mention D44 front, 4:1 t case, e disco, front/rear lockers, etc.

But mine doesn't have Max tow (I bought aftermarket for $50) or the headliners.

Just thought it was interesting with all the WW/Rubi price comparison threads.

Just built a Rubi and it came to $42,845. The Rubi is nice but way too much vehicle than I'll ever use. Still waiting on the dealer to call to see if they can get it or not, but I'll be working them on that price.

I think we might see FCA quality in the upcoming '18 Wrangler, but what we got now, is basically it. I don't think much has changed with JK with the change from Daimler to FCA. For example, parts like the auto trans is still sourced from Daimler, and its quality hasn't changed.

Looks like the dealer purposely lied to you to get you to buy one off the lot. Not surprising, but if the deal is good and you like it good luck.

I don't think the quality will fall off until the new wrangler is introduced. Remember, the JK was designed with Mercedes Benz support. The next one...Fiat. 😩
