And I was hoping it had something to do with the space-time continuum.

I bought it from the dealer. Having it installed this week (plus having my front windows tinted to match the hard top.)

Hehe. I remember pulling out one of those pamphlet thingys when my jeep was in for service.

Service guy was clueless when I asked him about it, so I put it back in the slot and drove home.

Yeah, I'm second guessing the decision to get it. I may have just pissed money down the drain. Oh well, too late now. Just wondering if anyone else had ever used it, and if so, what their thoughts were.

I went with TST 5000 With PTFE (dealer recommended) and it makes a huge difference (had the rig over a week before it was applied so i can tell, and it looks amazing)

Have any before/after pics?

Now that you say that, I'm even more concerned for another reason. I just took it in for service to fix the fender paint crack issue and a chip I found on the freedom top. But, the body shop says the new paint has to be on for 60 days before quantum application. But, I don't want to wait 3 full months to put the stuff on, so when I dropped it off today and instructed them to just hold off applying it to the fenders and one section of the roof. But now that you say it looks so much better, I hope the fenders don't look jacked up until I can have the quantum applied to the fenders/roof in 60 days.

Never buy any add-on from the dealer - they are high priced scams. Paint protection, undercoating, and the new one - etched VIN theft protection - they tried to slip it in my price for $399. Most experts, Consumer Reports, etc. say to pass on them.

it rains/"salts" a lot here... i recommend undercoating and paint sealant if you plan on keeping the rig over 7 years. i've seen plenty a wrangler/dakota/durango rustin away... and only like 7 or so years old. not hatin just sayin

UPDATE: I got my Jeep back on Saturday with the Quantum applied. I was at the BMV today getting my new plate and noticed a big fat streak of tar along the rear passenger fender. The entire thing easily wiped off with just a tissue. So far, so good!
