question about a lift

I am new to this, so please bear with me. How can I tell if my jeep has a lift on it? It is a 2011 4 door I bought it used, and it already has a few extras. I have noticed it sits higher than some jeeps

Should be obvious at the springs. The springs could be aftermarket and if you look at the top of the springs you should be able to see a spaced lift fairly easily if its there.

I have 2008 Wrangler ujk.I want to put a lift in but don't know how high.I was think maybe 2 1/2 or 3 Inch. What is better shocks with coils or shocks with spacers. What is a good lift kit to buy.

Depends on what size tires you want to run, what gearing etc. Figure that out first but for cost and less issues I would stay 2.5 inches and under. A 120$ leveling kit will let you run 33's without issue.

If you are going with that size tire I would definitely do a simple leveling kit and call it a day. No need for a 2.5 lift with that size tired. Leveling kit from teraflex will give you 2" lift in front and 1" in rear. Unless you are adding heavy bumpers/winch etc. You would be fine with leveling.
