Questions about regearing

2012 JKU Sport 3.21 gears dana 30 front 44 rear. What is the cheapest way to regear this to 4.10's? I know I need a new carrier system for the front will a used ZJ/WJ work? Was thinking that with rebuild kit and then overhaul kit for the rear and find a shop to install? Any suggestions or help is appreciated

I do not have a JK, But I would not buy a used carrier. Dont go cheap when it comes to your gears and differential. Also, if your not doing it yourself, usually the shop wont warranty the gears/carrier if they put it in. They will usually only warranty products that the shop buys then installs.

Guess I didnt think of the warranty, I would think if I bought new gears and kits plus new carrier still in the boxes why would they not warranty the work? I would think if it was a failure of the parts the manufacturer would warranty that?
Im definitely not installing myself. As far as buying used, was just talking the carrier which I think new are around $100 bucks, so not that big of deal nothing else would be cheaped out on, figured I could cost though by buying parts and having shop install instead of a 30% markup or more on parts

If you are supplying the parts the shop will probably up-charge the service to make up for the loss on sale of the parts. Unless of course you are a regular customer and know the folks pretty well.

Some places might warranty their work, some might not. I know the place I worked at, we had an instance of this. Most places warranty their work, but they wont warranty the product that is installed. If the product you bought failed due to a defect, then the shop has no obligation to replace/fix it on their dime. That one is all on you. Basically, the shop will install it for you, but you are liable for the parts you bring them. And having worked at a shop for a few years, we hated when customers brought in their own stuff to put on their cars. The majority of the time, the stuff wasnt correct and we would waste time trying to get it to fit when it is the wrong part.

My suggestion, depending on where you live, try to find an off roading shop that specializes in this stuff. They know exactly what they are doing, and can buy/supply everything you need.
