Questions about replacement back door hinges

I currently have a stock wheel and tire combo on my Jeep. But I am interested in going up to 33" inch tires and carrying several gallons of gas on the rear tailgate. Someday I hope to move up to 35" tires. So what tailgate hinges do you recommend? Are they all about the same, carry the same weight or are some better than others?

Also, should I consider replacing the tire carrier as well?

Thanks.

Teraflex HD hinge and spare tire carrier combo. If you can score it on sale. I got my combo when the carrier was included free.

I did the same deal. Not sure I could bring myself to have paid the full price.

These are nice/very well done and not a peep from mine with a 37 hanging on it.

Got a heavy/full 35" on mine and solid as a rock. Definitely would get same thing again if/when I get another Jeep.

Wow, $700 for the hinge and tire carrier. For that money I would prefer a bumper w/ tire carrier built in. Thanks for the suggestions; keep them coming if you have something cheaper in mind.

Yeah I didn't pay that, I think I got mine around the Easter holiday 2 years ago and only paid the hinge upgrade price. $400 something if I remember right.

The 33" tire shouldn't be an issue as it's just nominally larger than stock. But the 30#+ gas can (assuming 5 gallons @ 6 pounds per gallon) is another story.

I have the Mopar unit which is the rebranded TeraFlex model.. All I can ad is "you get what you pay for"...

If you want a good unit whether its tailgate or bumper mounted the good ones are all pricey.. Even most of the good bumper mount tire carriers are in the $500-700 range. The savings you may find with them is if you buy bumper and carrier as a set..
