quick antennax question

I received my 14' billet antenna today and I have yet to put it on. My tools are 3 acres away in the barn. But when I read the back of the package, it says that I need to use the one-groove adapter, and I may need a "coupling" which I do not believe came with it. Does the Jeep need the coupling?

I didn't bother the read the package on my antenna x . I just unscrewed my stock one and put the new one on. No tools required. I had the black one not the billet one.

Bought a stubby, the bottom metal area had shallow flattened areas that you use a small open end wrench to gently screw it down onto the existing base. No rocket science installation there.

on the black billet antenna, please use the largest adapter in the package, or just match the thread on the stock antenna to the ones in the package. On the off-road antenna, there is only one adapter in the package to make it easy for you!!

Just installed mine last week. Since I primarily listen to satellite radio, I had to go through the AM\FM channels. It appears some of the further AM stations (Washington DC as I live north of Baltimore) do not come in but all of the in-town AM\FM stations come in without issue.
Love the look of this antennae over stock.

I put mine on, a 14" antenna, about 1 month ago. There is some reception loss in certain area's, but it's pretty darn good for the most part. Plus, I dig the look!

Missing Adapter?

I sent an email that is on the website on Friday night but haven't received a response yet so I thought I should try here. I received my shorty offroad antenna Friday for my 2013 Wrangler but none of the adapter that came with it are large enough. I received 4 silver male to male adapters and one female to male adapter. They are all too small to fit. My order number is 110659. I am not sure if the size changed for 2013 but the outside diameter of the threads are 7.9mm measured with my micrometer and the largest diameter adapter I have is 6mm.

Its hit or miss it seems. Bought mine about 6 mo's ago reception sucked, even in the city where the FM station is based, so it wasn't distance issue. Its now taped to my garage radio and works ok for that. Good thing it was only $16.

Pretty much same scenario here. Significant signal degradation, even on the higher wattage stations but I listen to mostly satelite, disc or misc. media. so not that big of an issue. Way too many commericals on the airwaves anymore.

It looks great (14" black) & it will stay on unless satelite gets stupid expensive. But that is what media sticks are for so it is most likely a permanent addition.

I have the AntennaX 13" black shorty antenna. It's a compromise because it's too short. If you want better performance over the AntennaX or the stock antenna, replace it with a coat hanger.
Regards,
Jim

Phone Number

Anyone have a phone number for AntennaX? I checked the website but can't find one. I will check again very closely.

Checked very closely and searched the yellow pages with no luck. I always think something is shady when a company doesn't post a phone number.

I put the black stubby on this spring, and have had great reception, including the back roads of Ouray & Moab.

Does the Sirius radio use an internal antenna or will it use the stubby? I have an AntennaX but haven't installed it yet.

Two separate antennas. The Stubby will be just for am/fm.

That's what I figured but I did not see the Sirius "puck" I have had on other vehicles. Thanks for the reply.

the adapter allows our antenna to screw onto the 2007-2013 wrangler antenna mount. our Offroad 13 inch antenna has little to no loss in reception. You must go under the 2007-13 wrangler antenna on our website to order the correct antenna, or you will just get a antenna without the correct adapter for the 2007-2013 wrangler

I have one already. I purchased it on ebay from you. It fits, the reception is just horrible, thats why I was wondering if that was a different adapter, so I could actually use it on my jeep and not on my garage stereo. Do you have any suggestions
