Ram mount question

Hey everyone. So I needed a mounting a solution for my phone. I wanted to order the 67 designs mount but Iím in Canada and they charge $70 USD to ship to Canada. I just couldnít justify it on top of the already expensive mount.

So I ended up purchasing the ram mount x grip with adhesive base. The components are great and the x grip itself holds my iPhone perfectly, but the adhesive base peeled off under the weight about a week in. I went ahead and bought the ram mounts drill down base to use instead because Iíve never had luck with adhesive or suction cups. Iíd love a vector off road e dock, but they are expensive and donít ship to Canada.

I want to mount the base on the piece of dash just behind and to the right of the steering wheel. Can I drill the base down there? Will regular screws hold it in the plastic dash? I donít want to ruin the dash of my Jeep, so I want to do it right the first time.

Iím hoping someone who has experience with drill down mounts will chime in. Thanks. Any advice is appreciated

Make your own vector e-dock. The most difficult part would be tapping the arms that screw into the dash bolts.

Someone around here made one out of copper tube from the local hardware store.

Pull the dash and bolt it threw. It'd be a pretty quick job.

I’d definitely put a fender washer on the underside to spread any load across a bigger area.

If you send me the money, Iíll buy the 67D and ship it to you in Canada. Iím on the east coast so shipping to Newfoundland shouldnít cost that much more.

Drivers side and passenger side are two different pieces.

While not over problematic, it's still going to be a minor difficulty.

Also, passenger side has an air bag to contend with as well.

Also if you send them $150.00 and your bank account info, he will deposit $200 million dollars from your long lost Nigerian uncle who was once a royal prince.

Thank you for the offer! But Iíve already spent about $100 on various ram components so Iím eager to make this work instead
