rear tire carrier

does anyone have any feedback on this:

The TACTIK™ Spare Mount Kit is designed to carry up to and including a 37” diameter tire without the need for a complex bumper mounted design. The included Hinge Reinforcement kit evenly distributes the excessive weight of an oversized spare tire to both hinge points and installs using the factory tailgate hinge mounting points.

I think its a quadratic product. Feedback is appreciated.

So it looks like it's this:
TACTIK 12052.0010 - TACTIK™ Adjustable Spare Mount with Hinge Reinforcement for 07-16 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

At $499 it's not, in my book very far from a tire carrier which could carry a couple Jerry cans or Rotopax, and have some place to mount the jack and antenna.

If you are going with a 37 you'd better plan a new rear light, too.

It has an adjustable bracket for the light and they built the carrier to handle 37s. The OP should be fine.... "The adjustable 3rd brake light bracket adapts the factory center brake light globe and wiring to the adjustable mount."

With the tire carrier included it beats out the TF tire carrier in price. I'd also curious to hear more about it as well.

@brandofamily ... I have not had mine on for more than a few weeks. I needed something quick as I was having a lift put on and 35's. The carrier is very heavy duty. I trust it and did not notice anything out of normal. Yet.

Glad to hear it's working for you. I don't have any 1st hand experience, but have been reading and trying to decide what to buy. So I am just feeding back what I have read.

I hear you. I spoke to the folks at Fortec and they gave me 3 options. Fortec is heavy into the Jeep MOD's business. Small but very knowledgeable.

I know I will need to upgrade in the future if I bounce the spare around too much.

I have 9 tires/wheels sitting in my garage and needed a quick fix.

Is it wrong to have Quadratec boxes sitting in my family room and garage?

Oh, and another Wrangler too!

My Tactik Adjustable Spare Mount with Hinge Reinforcement kit showed up today. I wanted to put it on but the damn rain won't quit. It was packaged pretty good, and looks as stout as my buddy's TF for a couple hundred bucks cheaper.
The hinge support is more important than the tire mount with 35's. You could probably do the hinge and use the factory tire carrier.
I got such a great price on the kit from Rick, I couldn't pass it up!
