recovery question

Hey friends: Iíve got a 2013 stock JKU. Itís got a hook on the back, driverís side, which attaches to the frame (see pic). I figure this is a recovery point that I can attach a strap to. Does anyone know if thatís right? Reason I ask is because I can't understand why they put it on the driverís side, instead of in the center. Guess they wanted to leave room for a trailer hitch (which I don't have). But anyways: Is it safe/effective for me to give another car a recovery ďpopĒ if Iím pulling from only the left side like that? Has anyone used it that way? Doesnít seem like it would work if itís not in the centerÖ..? Thanks for helping, sorry for the nube question.

I have pulled out a stuck tractor with that hook. Worked ok. Not sure why there is no hook on right side.

Works just fine. You're not towing anyone, so for just a quick yank (I'm laughing too) there's no need for it to be centered. Have at it.m
