Regear on a '12

Don't think you can do it yet. AEV suppose to be working on the issue though and hopes to get the issue resolved. So just keep an eye out on the AEV Procal site.

I read about someone that did it with an automatic - went into limp mode and couldn't get it back to normal - put the old gears back in.

I also read someone with a manual re-geared and is OK...

From what I've read, you are correct. The auto can't be regeared yet because the transmission gets an error code thinking something is wrong with the axles. AEV's ProCal is suppose to fix this issue, but they haven't released it yet. The latest info I have from the AEV forum is that they should have a fix this month. The standard transmission is fine and people have regeared without problems.
