Replica 10th anniversary hood

Anyone experienced the DV8 steel replica of the 10th anniversary wrangler hood? Or know if it’s good quality?

There are a few "replica" jobber 10A hoods floating around online.

Whether that one is worth it or not will depend on a few things- shipping costs, whether it will arrive undamaged or not, and fit. It will also depend on whether it comes with all the extra parts you'll need (washer nozzles, footman loop, windshield bumpers) or whether you have to source those on your own.

For sh*ts and giggles, it might be worth pricing out the real Mopar version at your local dealer. When you factor in the shipping you don't pay, and the ability to refuse it should it be damaged, the discount available at the parts counter, you may find the price difference between replica/jobber and Mopar is relatively small. Factor in another $500+ to paint to match either way.

Your stock hood may get you $200-$300 locally if you do replace it.

I got mine at my dealer and it was a kit with everything, bezels, pad, pad retaining clips and bumpers. It was around $600 and no shipping, had the body shop paint and install it for another $500.

Not sue about the DV8 hood, but others coming Straight Outta China are shit quality. Many others are turning up as AEV rejects. AEV had a batch about a year or so ago that they turned down due to Q/C issues. Ive seen two being resold that had "cosmetic issues" at almost full boat as AEV's website.

Stick with the above advice unless you are getting free shipping.

I bought the Mopar version thru my body shop guy. He got it cheaper than ANY ONE else offered. Delivered to his shop. No shipping fee. He could also reject if damaged.
BTW I tried selling my OEM hood for over a year thru several places and got zero takers. Gave it away to a local guy who needed it for a project.

i just picked up a DV8 10A replica hood off of FB marketplace less than a week ago for $400. guy bought it, had it painted, and didnt like the look of it. He bought the other DV8 heat dispersion hood. he already had it painted black (the same as my jeep, paint code PX8) it had the vent bezels, footmans loop and windshield bumpers already installed. i swapped in my old windshield washer sprayers and installed it today in 20 minutes. quality seems to be good. it sits tight and right with no unsightly gaps. it has a "Made in the USA" sticker attached to the underside. Did not come with insulation pad, but my stock hood which came on the jeep when i bought it brand new also doesnt have the insulation pad.

PS: before picking it up, i watched a youtube video about the DV8 hood on Extreme Terrain's website.. according to them the windshield washer nozzles, footman's loop and windshield bumpers from your stock hood transfer over to the DV8 10A replica... so it may save you money to try installing your factory ones first. the video shows exactly hot to re-use your factory hardware and install the hood.. look for the DV8 hood on ET's site and click the video if you need help installing.

The windshield bumpers are different from an OEM standard hood and the 10A OEM hood... just sayin'

not arguing. the ones on my DV8 hood look different than the ones on my standard hood. all im saying is according to Extreme Terrain's youtube video, the standard hood accessories can be used on the DV8 10A replica hood.

I have the DV8 10a replica hood and everything transferred over except the bumpers. I had to buy the 10a ones - the stock ones do not fit.

Quality was fine. No complaints.
