Rugged Ridge Rebranding

Since the acquisition by Truck Hero, they're stepping up their game.
Should mean some better and more interesting products.

I like the new logo. Thinking about updating my RR center caps to the new one once available and if it will fit.

I really like what they did with the fenders on the Red/orange JL at the end. Not sure if they are modded stock ones, or complete aftermarket. I think the lights on them are much less obtrusive looking

Me too. Were they thin LED strips?

The JL was designed to fit JK bumpers, so the JK is fully forward compatible as well.

Easy for you.

How do I update the logo cut into my RR rocksliders and hood vent?

I like the way they sped up some of that footage, it's funny to see a Jeep racing around a corner at a speed like it can handle it!

Yeah, the bumper caught my eye as well. Hard to justify a new one though.
But, then again, my wife probably wouldn't even notice...

Looks like Truck Hero acquired Omix-ADA in 2017, and with it the rights over its aftermarket brands Rugged Ridge and Alloy USA: https://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...quire-Omix-ADA

Omix-ADA is the largest manufacturer of Jeep OE, replacement and aftermarket parts, and made many of the original parts on our Wranglers —TJ, JK or JL. It also makes factory-spec replacement parts for CJs and YJs.

Here’s a link to their main website: Replacement Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories, Bumpers, Soft Tops, leading Manufacture Omix-ADA

Come on Bill, that phrase "hard to justify" only comes from people who dont own Jeeps!

Im sure she would notice sooner or later.

Of course the downside would be all the folks they let go recently...also why does the new logo remind me of a modified SS logo.. so it goes..

I really like the looks of this bumper, but I'm afraid it's going to be like the Smittybilt XRC2 Gen 2... awesome, but crazy heavy.

Thanks for the link.

Bed Liners must have some incredible profit margins for Truck Hero to be growing this fast and be flush with cash.
I never even heard of them before this acquisition.
The company name is, politely said,.......silly.

Truck Hero also owns Superlift.
It'll be interesting to see how momma lets both RR and SL fight for the same sales.

My guess is 2/3 of pickups nowadays get a bed liner.

Im sure the ongoing truck and SUV sales boom is partly responsible for their buoyant finances.

i have zero Rugged Ridge parts and I expect when all is said and done I will have zero RR parts. At one time I kind of liked some of their rims but that passed. Not sure why, but much of their stuff just does not do it for me.

Different strokes...
They're in the next town over from the lab where I work so I bump into employees everywhere. Camping, mallcrawling, etc. They're about as legit as you can get, nice to the core.
My first JK was Rugged Ridge front to back. I have more parts from TransAmerica on this one with a smattering of RR.

I don't know anybody from Truck Hero (yet).

I have their front skid plate. It's as solid as anything else I have.

But if they want me to display the new logo, they have to send me an new skid.

Funny you mention that... I have installed new wheels, tires and a rear tire holder in the past 2 months. Either my wife is not saying anything or she doesn't notice. It was kind of funny when she climbed in the Jeep after the new tires when it was an 1.5" taller. Not a peep.

Many companies self compete using just a name or changes to product lines

-Smittybilt and Poison Spyder are the same company
-Amazon has lots of companies marketing amazon "house" items under different names
- Zone and BDS are the same company
- For years... auto manufacturers have played off production lines and said names

Lots of other companies do the same. They don't care which product you buy as long as it is one of theirs.

Interestingly enough Rugged Ridge does have some lift kits, I wonder if they are re-branded Superlifts?

It is true that many companies have and still do sell re-branded stuff under different names. However, what CEOs now know is that unless there is a compelling market share with two or more names, or the regulations from state to state make more brands the wise choice ( looking at tires in the deep south here ) , it's more profitable to consolidate the two and fire 1/2 of the upper management.
