Sahara Value

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to purchase my first jeep. I've been a long time lurker here and just recently signed up. I wanted to purchase a new Rubicon with the 3.6 but I think i'm going to hold off and buy used for the time being.

I found one that i'm interested in and wanted to get some opinions before I go haggle with the dealer. Here's the rundown:

2008 Sahara 2 Door...Black
36,000 Miles
6 Speed
Hard Top and Soft Top
Power windows/locks
Cloth seats

It appears to be in very good shape except the front driver's fender around the marker is cracked. It looks like the front lip of the fender was pushed into something causing it to crack in the uppper part of it. The rim is also a little scuffed like they dropped in a ditch or just brushed it against something doing the fender damage at the same time. The wheel is not bad though.

Other than that the Jeep appears to be in very good shape.

I called the salesman and he said they had just got it but didn't notice the fender as he just did a quick walk around. He didn't give me a price other than saying "I think they are asking mid 20's for it"

I pulled the NADA value and the clean retail is $23,875 with a clean trade of $20,550.

Just wanted to get your guys (and gals ) thoughts on a figure to shoot for. NADA values are one thing but you guys are more in touch with the market.

So what do you think?

you said you wanted a new Rubicon, but are looking at the Sahara. What type of driving are you planning to do and are you planning to do any mods?

www.kbb.com is a good place to look up values.

I originally wanted to hold off and purchase a new Rubicon this winter or spring but my current ride is having some issues so I need to get some wheels. So at this point I don't want to put myself in a bind and purchase new if I can get a deal on this one. Then come spring/summer I can trade and get the Rubicon unless I just decide to keep this one for a while and mod it.
