Should I buy?

I tried posting this earlier. I'm looking at a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with 78,300 for my 20 year old son to use while he's in college. Is this too much mileage?? It appears to be in great condition. Can anybody give me any pointers as to what to look for? Thanks

There are folks on here with a lot more experience with Jeeps than I am. Will your son be going to a college that's in an area where he'll need 4wd? Why are you interested in Jeeps? I'm sure there are many more vehicles that would be easier on the pocketbook than a Jeep.

78K miles is about average for a 6 year old vehicle.
As for if you should buy it ???
What is the price, has it had any accidents, how many owners, does the seller have service records, did you take the Wranglers serial number to your local Jeep service department and inquire about any in-warranty repairs?

Make sure it has been serviced regularly and correctly (all services done), it doesn't look abused, isn't overly modded (all for your peace of mind). Check to make sure it hasn't been wrecked.

That really isn't too many miles for a 2010 unless most of them are off road. Is it a hard top or soft top (or possibly both)?

Is it an X, a Sahara or Rubicon?

A Jeep would have been my first choice in college, good choice!

Personally I would get something more economical for college. But then again when I went to school I had a Camaro Z-28 lol. How far from home will he be? Does he drive around a lot?

Can you give us a update on your purchase decision?
