Smile Should I feel bad????

I traded in my 2013 JKUS Black Beauty yesterday for a Tank 2016 JKUS, and while doing it I had all fingers and toes crossed.

A little back history on the '13: 68k miles, bought brand new in 8/12.
2 water pumps replaced over a 6 month span due to the "whistling" noise
Left head replaced
This past week it started shutting off randomly while driving, shifting very hard, or not engaging at all.

So, LOVING my Jeep, but fed up with all the issues (even though they only cost me my time because everythimg was covered by warranty) I gingerly drove her to the dealership and hoped she didnt act up while they did their thing.

2 hours later, 25k for my trade, I drove out with a brand new Tank. So, ask me if I feel bad for trading in a vehicle that had issues, which we all know dealerships often tell us, "if we cant get the problem to replicate, there must not be a problem," and I will tell you I DO NOT!

Many people have asked why buy another one with all the problems you had.... They just dont get it. Here's my tank btw:

On a 2013, you would have had a 5yr, 100,000 mile warranty on the power train. Therefore, as long as you told the dealer about the issues (it would be fixed on their dime anyway), you should not feel guilty (for the next buyer).

As for buying another Wrangler.....if I had as many issues as you had, I would have been tempted to pass on another Chrysler product. But good on you.

If you had sold it private party without disclosing repeat or in going issues, you might have had a problem come back to you down the road.

Given that the warranty work was done by a Jeep dealer and that you traded it in at at Jeep dealer, I would think they would have had full access to the vehicle history. Also, given that it was still likely under their warranty, I'd had zero feelings of guilt.

Dealers are the professionals in that transaction. I'd think the due diligence is on them, as long as you are not concealing damage or omitting requested disclosure.

Just enjoy the new Jeep, let someone else worry about the old one.

If folks don't understand, then who cares... you're the one dealing with everything that is going on.

Well yes, generally.

However, concealment and non disclosure keep a lot of lawyers busy in this country.

I have had the stalling issues as well, remote start engine would quit and had me worried, till I looked it up in the owners manual, half tank of fuel or less shuts it down.

My looking for an excuse to sell and repurchase has a lot to do with test driving a 2016 Miata roadster a buddy of mine has. No matter how hard I tried playing the persuasion game, I could not entice convince or manipulate the wife in regards to my latest needs discovery...

"Oh babe! We could trade your PAID off car..."

Where in the manual does it say that? The only part I see in the manual is that it will shut down if it is low on fuel. 1/2 tank of gas is not low.

very true but if they don't ask then there is no concealment. I had a pretty bad leak when I traded in my 13 and I didn't say a word. They didn't ask me about any known issues and I didn't sign any paperwork that would have legally required me to tell them.

Yeah, it only aborts the remote start if the fuel light/warning is tripping.

Sometimes it will be just at the threshold and will start and then run momentarily and then conk-out and not restart, which if you're nearby is a "WTF !?!" moment until you go in and check manually. This happens for me sometimes when packing for ski trips and I'm about to fill up before getting on the highway, but I remote start to warm the engine/cabin while packing.
