The 67D mounts seem to be way too pricey to not at least explore other options first for cell phone mounts, like the handlebar mounts on amazon or walmart.

wonderin if somethin like these would work: https://www.walmart.com/c/kp/bike-mount-phone-holders
They may work. I think it'd be about the same.

As for the price of 67d, I originally thought along the same lines. After trying 3 other mounts, I took the plunge. My wallet doesn't particularly 67d, but I'll never buy anything else now.

If you are a serious offroader, I wouldn't waste my time and money on cheap made in China garbage. I use Ram Mount accessories on my Vector Offroad bar and I haven't had any issues in four years, other than the Stubby bar being too wobbly, and that was fixed by getting the full-width bar.

Not a serious offroader... 15% serious / 85% mall crawler.

I went with 67d from the start. I was looking at cheaper options but after reading posts like yours about going through different options and eventually settling on 67d I decided to save some money and do it right from the beginning. It really is a high quality mount and I can't imagine using anything else.

Honestly, you can see the road clearly. The camera angle just makes it look like its a real cluttered view. All of the mounts are Ram mounts and the tablet mount is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And there are no discount codes for the Vector Offroad JKE docking bar, the full width one? its $150 plus $20 for the cheapest shipping (ground). there's GOTTA be a cheaper option / better value. I dont mind paying the money, but as a vendor on this forum i'd think they would have something.

I tried and they offered like $10 off so I went with 67D even though I had a 67D single ball mount. Added the double ball mount and reused the old arm. I will probably never use the second arm, but I would rather have the option down the road.

Check out 8020.net they have aluminum rails of all styles so you can create something unique for your jeep. They have all kinds of threaded inserts so you can match the 1/4-20 RAM ball mounts. I've priced what I need from them (aluminum stock & threaded inserts) and it comes out to $41.00 before shipping. It may not be what you're looking for but it worth checking out.

I have to admit, for what you get, the Vector Offroad bar is definitely overpriced... It's just a light 1" metal tube with crackled black coating. It seems like every company now days that says "Made in America", thinks they can use that as an excuse to price gouge their customers.

I have no doubt that if you could find the same thing in a Chinese knock off, my bet is that you could get the whole thing plus shipping all the way from China for under $50.

@NaptownLarry , i'll take a look at it after i get to it. i'm assuming it's something i couldve DIY made and save $140 of it, but i suppose im paying for convenience... but then again, im a jeeper, if i wanted convenience i wouldnt own a vehicle so demanding of home-installations and wrench parties lol.

ok, i'm back in country and will try to get to the Vector Offroad full dock rail in the AM to make good on my promise.

But first, a question: Think i could get away with spray painting the bar or would i HAVE to powdercoat?

I'm considering a few different options instead of plain all black... maybe spray all white and throw some wisps of red and blue for the american flag "Murica" kind of theme, or maybe i could base coat all white and then spray wisps of blue (hydro blue paint exterior), or i could just leave black and spray wisps of blue (since the rest of my jeep is black and blue)?

went ahead and ordered and installed the Vector Off-Road, took only 15 min WITH a beer break. Probably gonna slice little slits into the rubberized tray for the center dash so i can continue to use it instead of just throwing away. Jaime said i had to mention them and tag them ( @Vector Offroad ) along with posting a high quality pic in order to get whatever rebate they offer / refund a portion of my order total. At first i thought they hadnt included the 4mm hex screws needed for install until i realized they were in the ends of the pole thingys lol.

$170 for that black broom stick??? Wow!!! I def went the wrong direction in career choices. Maybe 1" pvc would do the same?? Thoughts on ur purchase please....

oh no, dont get me wrong! read above for some savvy recommendations, i def did NOT want to purchase and thought a cheaper direction was doable. IMHO, these are overpriced BUT they are very sturdy and if you can spend the $ with no prob, they are a well made product and exact fitting. Price aside, 5 star product.

btw, the refund given back was $10, better than nothing.

if you had resources and time to get a long pole for your main docking tube and two shorter poles to cut and make standoffs out of and have them bored out and tapped for a 4mm screw on both ends, just do yourself and save $120... i have twins on the way and ended up ordering for time saving and laziness

see below:
1:20 for dash via flat head
2:40 for standoffs

Also, see in the video above. i dont think he mentions it but in the vid's thumbnail you can see he's actually using the GoPro bicycle mount for his gopro cam so im sure the same mount could be repurposed towards other applications, as long as you can connect to the mount. Since i actually have one and never used it for my mountain bike rides i just put mine on also, no problems... nothing on it yet, but fits the dock fine

$14, link if interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wish someone would have answered this question. I'm about to install a Vector bar and will occasionally run a GPS, phone and tablet. I'd like to tuck wires behind the dash to one central point if possible. Not sure how something aftermarket will play with the canbus.

I just run the wire for my GPS over to the right and down in front of the dash. The iPad and phone run off their own battery, as they last all day. I couldn't care less about how it looks. It's a Jeep.

I just finished this project today and don't have my mounts yet. A single ram mount for a phone will cost near double what I have into this setup.

The bar is 80/20 aluminum extrusion. The Ram mount is just a regular arm with one of the ball mounts that you would normally mount with adhesive. There is a Rokform magnet for a phone case mount attached to that with adhesive.

Actually, I just traded the Jeep and have the aluminum bar and Vector standoffs for sale if you’re interested.
