I like the look of that extruded aluminum. Built my 3D printer out of it - it’s good stuff.

So, the head unit was the factory 430n with Garmin nav but I've since installed a Sony XAV AX5000/w Carplay head unit. Big improvement.

The one to the right is a Samsung Tab A 10.1 and I use that for gps when off road. I run GAIA gps and Backcountry Navigator on it. Depends on what maps I want to use.

The one to the left of the head unit is my iPhone. And right next to the driver side A-pillar is my Kenwood TH-D74 Tri-band ham radio.

Not pictured that I have added since then that I mount above the head unit is another Samsung tablet, Galaxy Tab A 7" that I run Torque Pro and sometime use "RadarNow!" app which a weather app that gives real time weather radar.

@DougM7 how did you secure it by the vent & in the tray above the radio?

Actually, I just traded the Jeep and have the aluminum bar and Vector standoffs for sale if you’re interested.

I just made a bar out of copper pipe but I'm always looking at what others do and how they do it for future reference.

The Vector Offroad bar attaches to a threaded bolt in the dash. If you look at their instructions you will see that they instruct you to pop out two parts of the dash to get to the bolts. I made a homemade threaded rod out of M6-1 rod and joints/stand-offs from Amazon. I covered it with 1/2" copper pipe with a cap. I drilled through the cap to accept an M6-1 bolt through the pipe hangers.

Dash mounting bar system

Here is mine. Accessory light bar switches, aux battery voltage(orange), main battery voltage(green) and switch to connect/disconnect auxiliary battery, fuel transfer switch, ham radio, GoPro, mount for 2nd radio, mike holder and unseen to the left is a scan gauge. Still plenty of room to mount. can mount to all four sides of bar. Bar mounts from the ends with no center support needed and did not have to drill any holes.
