Shudder issue while cruising (2013 JK/No Lift)

Background....no lift, 275/75/18 wheels. I've owned it 2 weeks.

I'm having this annoying issue where it sounds like I'm running over some light rumble strips in the road.....like a backhoe has been on the road and left tracks.

It's not super severe but noticeable. If I let off the gas, no shudder. It will not do it under a load such as when accelerating unless I am taking off at a slow pace and accelerating slowly.

My first thought was wheels are out of balance but then I figured that would happen all the time and would not stop if I lifted the throttle.

Wheel balance issues can happen at certain speeds and not at others. I’d start there first.

Do you feel it or just hear it?
Feel it in your hands or butt?

Is it temperature specific? (cold out)

Feel it and hear it, do not feel it in the steering wheel. Also not temperature specific. Odd that it doesn't happen while coasting.

If it's not a wheel balance issue (check first), take a critical look at your rear driveshaft.

Reminds me of an issue I had years ago on a Buick. Shudder under light load only. Turned out to be a coil over. Problem is only present under light load because the trans was in torque lock which is more load on the engine.

I had a random shudder issue with my Durango a while back and it ended up being the Crank Position Sensor.

I put 2 tubes of Dr Tranny From LubeGuard in yesterday and on the drive in this morning the shudder issue was ALOT better. Not completely gone but probably 90% gone.

On that note, before putting the tubes in I checked the trans fluid and it was more 'dirty' than I was hoping for. At 122k miles, I'm sure a 'flush' isn't the right move. Maybe just a gravity drain and fluid replacement???
