Lol I have to disagree. When my guys start a story that involves tactics I ALWAYS make them start it with, "So there I was......."

Why is it that folks here think that the Wranglers are the only vehicle capable of off road adventures? I ran into the same prejudice with my Tracker. Once you show the non-believers that it could go everywhere they went (and then some*) they quieted down - a little. I found that the people who have never owned any other 4WD vehicle before were the loudest when it came to deriding other offroad capable rides....

I would love to have an early 70's K-5, or a Plymouth Trail Duster or Dodge Ramcharger. I miss my 1978 Dodge Power Wagon! 360 cubic inches of loud fun, and a growling 4 speed manual tranny with granny gear. It was the perfect vehicle for a young sailor in the 80's!

*try driving a JK though a 6' gate into a pasture, or between pine trees in East Tx.
I had a 73 International Scout, V8, 4 speed, that i took many places others would not go. wish i had it now.

I had a 64 International Scout. I installed a deep water kit on it. Couldn't count how many times I have pulled the old CJ's and earlier jeeps out of nasty. I told my wife earlier this week that I sure did miss my Scout.

Another classic that I wish I could have owned at some point (the other being a K5). Scouts are awesome.

Similar, except we start ours with " so, no shit, there I was, thought I was gonna die".

Some people buy jeeps just to have a convertible and no other reason. They cant understand why someone would have their doors on or top on. Those are Barbies.
I just wanted to point out their are lots of different reasons to own a Wrangler, if it wasn't for owners like you and I with our different reasons and even the Barbies in their topless Jeeps just cruzin for guys, their probably wouldn't be enough sales to justify making the Wrangler and we all would not have the wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of the last American Icons.

There sure are more than few folks here that worry about what others think; example this thread and others. When I was a lad (I am 65) we rarely worried about that stuff. Must be generational. A guy could drive an MG Midget and no one would give it a second thought. In fact most of us wanted one. What has happened to the American male?

The day I brought my JK home I hear the neighbor yelling across the yard, "hey, that's a nice Jeep, do they make those for men?" Funny guy.
